Ok, how about this for an idea.  We take it in turns to post a favourite (British spelling) comic cover every day.  This went really well on the comic fan website that I used to frequent.  What we tried to do was find a theme or subject and follow that, until we all got bored with that theme.  I'd like to propose a theme of letters of the alphabet. So, for the remainder of October (only 5 days) and all of November, we post comic cover pictures associated with the letter "A".  Then in December, we post covers pertaining to the letter "B".  The association to the letter can be as tenuous as you want it to be. For example I could post a cover from "Adventure Comics" or "Amazing Spider Man".  However Spider Man covers can also be posted when we're on the letter "S".  Adventure Comic covers could also be posted when we're on the letter "L" if they depict the Legion of Super Heroes.  So, no real hard, fast rules - in fact the cleverer the interpretation of the letter, the better, as far as I'm concerned.

And it's not written in stone that we have to post a cover every day. There may be some days when no cover gets posted. There's nothing wrong with this, it just demonstrates that we all have lives to lead.

If everyone's in agreement I'd like to kick this off with one of my favourite Action Comic covers, from January 1967. Curt Swan really excelled himself here.

Dr. Syn … smuggler and highwayman.

I have no idea who "Weasel Guy" is, but this looks like one heck of a road trip:

Taking the road out of Gotham...

...and back again.

Ok, we're into the second half of the month, and I'm struggling now with 'road trips.' I'd like to open it up to any large crowd gatherings, as all large crowds were definitely banned during the pandemic and we're starting to see them return now. The new football season has started here in the UK and fans are finally being allowed to go to football matches. I assume that crowds would even be allowed in the event of a local or general election being called.

Crowning tends to generate large crowds too.

We expanded it beyond road trips early in the month. From Page 1142:

If we incorporate the various suggestions, amendments and tweaks that have been put forward, we get something like "Highways and other forms of travel, outdoor activities, and things we wish we could be doing in August".  This seems to cover everything we've discussed.  However, it's so long-winded that it will need to be abbreviated, perhaps to "Travel and wished-for activities".  At least the full description gives some degree of shape to the covers that are eligible.  Each of us could even focus on a particular sub-set of covers that appeals!

We've been using this wider description since then.

Jesse James … highwayman

Indie with shades of Big Daddy Roth:

Summer ain't over yet!

"On the Road with Wolverine" - two different occasions, two different companions.
