Ok, how about this for an idea.  We take it in turns to post a favourite (British spelling) comic cover every day.  This went really well on the comic fan website that I used to frequent.  What we tried to do was find a theme or subject and follow that, until we all got bored with that theme.  I'd like to propose a theme of letters of the alphabet. So, for the remainder of October (only 5 days) and all of November, we post comic cover pictures associated with the letter "A".  Then in December, we post covers pertaining to the letter "B".  The association to the letter can be as tenuous as you want it to be. For example I could post a cover from "Adventure Comics" or "Amazing Spider Man".  However Spider Man covers can also be posted when we're on the letter "S".  Adventure Comic covers could also be posted when we're on the letter "L" if they depict the Legion of Super Heroes.  So, no real hard, fast rules - in fact the cleverer the interpretation of the letter, the better, as far as I'm concerned.

And it's not written in stone that we have to post a cover every day. There may be some days when no cover gets posted. There's nothing wrong with this, it just demonstrates that we all have lives to lead.

If everyone's in agreement I'd like to kick this off with one of my favourite Action Comic covers, from January 1967. Curt Swan really excelled himself here.

Since three of the four top choices were mine, it's a bit awkward to vote but if I had to, I would go with "Dinosaurs" perhaps even combined with "Time Travel".

You can do "Weddings/Brides" too but only if they involve dinosaurs and/or time travel.

That's "Muffin" in the lower left...

I agree with Peter - let's make a decision! Before we know where we are these months will be upon us. I vote for dinosaurs/time travel for June and the JSA 80th anniversary for November.  July/Aug/Sept I leave to the rest of you - anything from Pete's list I'm sure would be interesting.

Dinosaurs and time travel for June sounds good to me.

Two with heroes facing a whole bunch of ornery dogs

Someone's been helping themselves to the gingold, apparently.

Here's a hound of a different colour:

Right, I'll put down "Dinosaurs" (with a side order of Time Travel) for June, pencil the JSA's 80th Anniversary in for November, and come back to nag about July in a month's time!

Is it the same dog shown with the Flash's corpse on both these covers?

Interesting to note that Picture News on the second cover claims "World Mourns", but his body has still just been dumped on a park bench.  The first cover is more (apparently!) honest in describing him as "unmourned".  Linguistic footnote:  the dog seems to be what I would call a Dachshund or "sausage dog".  I understand that the USian for that British term is "wiener dog".

Wiener dogs coming right up

Doll Man and his dog, Elmo! (Sadly this Wonder Dog never made it to Freedom Fighters!)

Donald having trouble with a weiner dog and another Liberty Meadows, just 'cause.

I haven’t done much research but I think Scamp was the “dog” character from American publishers appearing the second most in his/her own title after Lassie.  Who have I missed?
