Ok, how about this for an idea. We take it in turns to post a favourite (British spelling) comic cover every day. This went really well on the comic fan website that I used to frequent. What we tried to do was find a theme or subject and follow that, until we all got bored with that theme. I'd like to propose a theme of letters of the alphabet. So, for the remainder of October (only 5 days) and all of November, we post comic cover pictures associated with the letter "A". Then in December, we post covers pertaining to the letter "B". The association to the letter can be as tenuous as you want it to be. For example I could post a cover from "Adventure Comics" or "Amazing Spider Man". However Spider Man covers can also be posted when we're on the letter "S". Adventure Comic covers could also be posted when we're on the letter "L" if they depict the Legion of Super Heroes. So, no real hard, fast rules - in fact the cleverer the interpretation of the letter, the better, as far as I'm concerned.
And it's not written in stone that we have to post a cover every day. There may be some days when no cover gets posted. There's nothing wrong with this, it just demonstrates that we all have lives to lead.
If everyone's in agreement I'd like to kick this off with one of my favourite Action Comic covers, from January 1967. Curt Swan really excelled himself here.

This character is called Gravedigger. He should have a shovel to dig his own grave. Nobody who isn't from Krypton could stand in the open like that against that many guns.
Having said that, this is Men of War #21(OCT79). The DC Fandom Wiki doesn't provide any story details. The cover has the amusement park in Atlantic City, New Jersey. It also shows a German submarine. The story may have been inspired by the sabotage attempts in 1942, which brought ashore a handful of German agents, not combat troops. They came ashore in German Navy uniforms to avoid being treated as spies, which was smart. They later took off the uniforms and switched to civilian clothes, which wasn't smart. Here's the story:

Devastated to hear the news of the sudden untimely death of the wonderful Olivia Newton-John, aged only 73. Maybe not necessarily pertinent to this thread, nevertheless I'm overwhelmed by sadness. I saw Grease in October 1978 at our local Odeon Cinema, Bristol Road, Birmingham when I'd just turned 20. It was an eye-opener. Travolta and Olivia were at the peak of their game.
On a much happier note, I'm really pleased to hear your positive reactions to the proposal to run with Joe Kubert covers in September. Joe was my 2nd favourite comic artist (after Neal Adams) so I'll have no problem pulling a large number of his covers together. And definitely "first and last" for October. and what about "classrooms" for November? All sounds good to me.
In the meantime...
I have no problem with a Joe Kubert spotlight month in September.
I also don't have a problem with "First and Last", provided someone reminds me what the ground rules for that was. Do we post both covers at once? The first or the last of a specific title each day? Do minis count? I doubt annuals and specials do because a lot of times it would be the same cover image for both categories.
And I thought the issue with Classrooms was it needed more qualification to get move eligible covers.
Meanwhile, another feature of many carnivals and fairs is the fortune teller. Although sometimes they're either not right or say something we don't want to hear.

I opened my contributions for this month discussing trained animals jumping through hoops at some carnival/fair sideshows before slyly acknowledging The Black Canary's 75th anniversary, an event which DC doesn't seem to be celebrating.
But it turns out BC was copying a previous "animal" act.
