Free Comic Book Day, a pop-up Punk Market, and the local SF group, all meeting in roughly the same place. I'll have a video later this weekend, I hope. Meanwhile, what is today's internet, if not LLM/AI and piracy? Shazam!
From "Dr. Mystic", The Comics Magazine #1 (1936) and "Batman", Detective Comics #49 (1941). The similarity of the images might mean they both reflect something prior, but I can't guess what it might have been. I was also reminded of the fight between giants in Silver Star #4-#5 (1983).

The pose reminds me of several (later) Kirby images of "when titans clash" from covers and splash pages (Hulk vs. Thing, Thor vs. Hercules, etc.).
It may not be an homage to something in particular, just an iconic pose.
Does he only fight criminals with refined taste in fashion?
His enemies would all die laughing.
From The Atom #17. Imagine being hit at the base of your skull by a cosh weighing 180 pounds.
The Atom must have routinely punched holes in people, or ripped them open.
Its hard to chose among the three.
