    • "The Zesty Zither of Zeus". OK.

I had to look "zither" up in the dictionary whenever it was that Stan Lee first used it. It's possible Zeus (or his entourage) had one! But how it could be "zesty" is a bit of mystery.

"Dost thou thinks tis easy to come up with alliterations for Zeus? Nay, tis not!"

Wait, that explains it. Thanks, Philip!

    • My older sister had a zither when I was little. That's the only reason that I knew what one was.

    • Say "My sister's zither" three times fast, and Beetlejuice appears.

    • I like to imagine a neoclassical painting in the style of Nicolas Poussin called Landscape with Jupiter Playing Air Guitar. The goddess are all rolling their eyes.

    • Awesome.

  • Are we 100% certain that there was no "Better Living Through Chemistry" going on in those days?

  • I really need to pay more attention to the news.  I just read about something that caught me by surprise.  It might take you by surprise, too.

As of this Saturday, there will be no beer left in the United States.

You see, this Saturday the last batch of Schlitz Beer will be brewed and bottled.  After that, Schlitz Beer will be discontinued and no longer available.

    And as everybody knows---

    When you're out of Schlitz . . .

    • And no one much younger than I am will get the punchline to this joke:

  • And just in case anyone still doesn't get it . . .
