In the Dallas, TX, suburb of Kemp, a billboard has appeared on a public highway in Calvin from CALVIN AND HOBBES peeing on the Dallas skyline as a protest against the removal of Confederate Memorial. I'm not absolutely sure it's Calvin, the picture I found isn't very well reproduced, if someone could find a better picture, please? However, the persistence of the " Calvin-takes-a-whiz " meme, that took advantage of Bill Watterson's unusual/stiff-necked/principled refusal to let his creation be used for any merchandising whatsoever, certainly would suggest that our Dixie boy chose the character to take a predestined whiz (At least it's not nasty, brutish, and short!!!!!!!:-#) on Love Field town's big buildings. The identity if the person who showed such pride in his glorious Confederate heritage remains unknown. Sophistication abounds. Stay classy!

It's not hard to Google the sign, as it's in the news now. The design resembles the ubiquitous Calvin sticker, but it's definitely not him on the billboard. They probably realized that wouldn't fly.
The funniest thing is the reports that the billboard is drawing "a backlash." Gee, you think?

Kemp is about 45 miles southeast of Dallas in Kaufmann Country.
It's not a suburb of Dallas.
The "Calvin Peeing" decals I've seen over the years are usually a on a vehicle disrespecting another auto brand. They look exactly like Calvin. I'm surprised that they haven't lost their trademark and/or copyright (I don't even play a lawyer on TV). Sometimes I even see Hobbs in these decals. The most incongruous ones have been Calvin praying, which sounds like the last thing he would do.
I just checked out the billboard. It shows a short-in-stature character in full Confederate uniform. His cap hides most of his hair, which appears to be blond. Nothing at all looks like Calvin.
I'ts the same way that Foxboro is described as being "near Boston", when it's actually closer to Providence.
