Delver Season 2 is the sequel to the fantasy adventure series that examines modern social issues through the eyes and actions of a young and tenacious teen from a small village who must navigate the uncertain world.
In the follow up to Delver, the comic book series created by Iron Circus Comics founder C. Spike Trotman and YA author MK Reed, Trotman picks up with Temerity’s next big choice: to accept change or fight against what destroyed her home. Delver Season 2 features art by Clive Hawken, colors by Maarta Laiho, letters by Ed Dukeshire and edits by Kel McDonald.
- Temerity has returned home from Dungeon. But Oddgoat has grown to Newdoorbie. But the name isn’t the only thing that’s changed. She once had to decide between the familiar or the exciting but dangerous. Now the familiar is gone. Her new choice is to accept change or fight against what destroyed her home.
- Collects issues #1-5 of the digital Comixology Originals series
- When the door to a dungeon surfaces in the tiny village of Oddgoat and droves of newcomers arrive, the influx threatens the livelihoods of longtime residents — including teen Temerity Aster and her family. As wild magic and gentrification increase, Temerity is forced to make a choice: abandon the only home she's ever known to carpet baggers and sellswords, or delve into the new and dangerous dungeon below in the hopes of finding unclaimed gold and treasure to support her family.
- Spike Trotman is a cartoonist and publisher who was born in DC, raised in MD, and currently resides in Chicago, IL. She likes anchovies, roughhousin’ dogs, and god games. She cohosts the podcast “Dirty Old Ladies.” Iron Circus Comics belongs to her, but she’ll let you hold it if you ask nicely. More: ironcircus.com
- Clive Hawken is a comic artist and illustrator, born and bred in the Pacific Northwest. With energetic mark-making and a distinct figurative style, he draws from his complicated personal narrative as a young, transgender man to create empathetic stories and images. Inspired by all things kitsch and camp, he looks to reinvigorate the aesthetics and ideas of pulp and genre fiction in his work. Clive graduated from the Pacific Northwest College of Art in Portland, Oregon in 2017. If he’s not drawing a huge, buff dude right now, he probably will be soon.

SPACE JOB #1 (OF 4)
Dark Horse Comics is proud to present Space Job, an all-new series by writer David A. Goodman. The crew of the SS George H.W. Bush may not be the best in the galaxy, but they're, well… a crew. Space Job features art by Álvaro Sarraseca and colors by Jordi Escuin Llorach.
It’s the future, and serving aboard the S.S. Bush is the worst job in the fleet. The Captain is every terrible, self-centered boss you’ve ever had, more concerned with what he bought on Space eBay than he is in getting the work done; the Communications Officer always seems to be on a personal call, and nothing gets fixed because the Chief Engineer really is only interested in hitting on his coworkers. They’re on a simple cargo run, and the biggest threat to the ship is the fact that the Operations Officer, the one guy holding it all together, is updating his resume. What could go wrong?
“Most of the people in the world work in jobs they hate, and I don’t think that will be any different in the future,” says writer David A. Goodman, “the human adventure is figuring out how you’re going to get through the day without getting fired. I think we will relate to the crew of this ship, and enjoy their travels because it’s not happening to us."
Space Job #1 (of 4) will be available in comic shops February 8, 2023. It is available for pre-order now at your local comic shop and will retail for $3.99.

STRANGER THINGS: TALES FROM HAWKINS #1
Award-winning writer Jody Houser (Critical Role: Vox Machina Origins, Star Wars: Thrawn) returns to pen an anthology of vibrant new stories woven into the larger tapestry of the hit Netflix series Stranger Things in Stranger Things: Tales From Hawkins! Joining Houser on her trip through Hawkins are artist Caio Filipe (Stranger Things: Summer Special, Nightwing), Sunando C (End After End), Giorgia Gio Esposito (Lunar Room, Dr. Who) colorist Dan Jackson (The Strain, Hellboy: Weird Tales), and letterer Nate Piekos (The Umbrella Academy, Black Hammer).
On the surface, Hawkins, Indiana seems like the kind of town where nothing too out of the ordinary ever happens, but in the fall of ’83 it is anything but safe. In Issue #1 of Tales from Hawkins, two friends head out into the woods with their rifles and a six-pack. These would-be hunters find themselves the prey of a nightmarish beast who has claimed the wilderness around town and everything inside it, including them.
Stranger Things: Tales From Hawkins #1 (of four) will be in comic shops February 8, 2023. Artists Kyle Lambert, Diego Galindo, and Danny Luckert each contributed a variant cover for issue #1. All four variants are available for pre-order at your local comic shop.

LOVE EVERLASTING VOL 1 TP
Eisner Award winning writer Tom King and superstar artist Elsa Charretier’s Love Everlasting, Vol. 1 has won the hearts of fans and critics alike with a bevy of glowing reviews ahead of the book’s highly-anticipated Valentine’s Day release from Image Comics.
The debut volume has secured starred reviews from both Publishers Weekly and Library Journal, with PW likening the stylized art to that of the iconic Darwyn Cooke and LJ hailing it as an “uncommonly compelling first volume.”
Love Everlasting, Vol. 1 follows Joan Peterson, who discovers that she is trapped in an endless, terrifying cycle of “romance”—a problem to be solved, a man to marry. And every time she falls in love she’s torn from her world and thrust into another tear-soaked tale. Her bloody journey to freedom and revelation starts in this breathtaking, groundbreaking collected edition. This first volume collects the first story arc of the ongoing Love Everlasting series, issues #1-5.
Love Everlasting, Vol. 1 will be available at local comic book shops on Wednesday, February 8 and independent bookstores, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Books-a-Million, and Indigo on Valentine’s Day, Tuesday, February 14.
Select praise for Love Everlasting:
"King (Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow) and Charretier’s (Department of Truth, Vol. 3) gripping mystery subverts the romance-comic genre but still delivers genuine romantic melodrama. An uncommonly compelling first volume." — Library Journal (starred review)
"Romance comics meet Quantum Leap in this quirky odyssey through time, space, and the heart... King energizes the familiar romance genre with twists and turns that fuse each of Joan’s trysts into an intricate puzzle... Charretier’s thick-line cartoony character design, reminiscent of Darwyn Cooke, perfectly depicts this genre crossover, and Matt Hollingsworth’s colors capture the eeriness, avoiding primary colors with suitably subdued secondary palettes for each chapter. This series launch piles on the thrills and leaves tantalizing questions open. Readers will be eager to see the next volume." — Publishers Weekly (starred review)
"The expressive strokes of Charretier’s art here have nostalgic warmth, but they're more connected to the retro-modern cartooning of, say, Batman Adventures than actual art from any of those doe-eyed comics of yesteryear. This feels like then, but it's deeply rooted in now, which makes it the ideal aesthetic for this meta take... King’s interest, as it’s often been, is deconstruction, and the narrative necessarily takes some repetition to achieve it. However, certain chapters function as gripping romances on their own merits, even as they advance toward a conceptual, distressing, but ultimately compelling culmination." — Booklist
"While much of the story is told in a dead-on, entertaining style that pays homage to the romance comics of the 1950s, the elements of mystery and horror that emerge make the book much more than a nostalgic indulgence. The writing is clever and builds tension throughout, while the art is impeccable in its blend of colors, linework, and style, covering settings from World War I era France to the Old West in America well. Rich themes and deep questions underpin Joan’s adventures, as about the true nature of love, the need for it, and the desire for independence and self-realization...Love Everlasting Volume 1 is a fascinating romantic horror story about a woman who shifts between lives." — Foreword Reviews
“Elsa and Tom are two of the very most talented creators giving their energy to sequential art, seeing them reinvent the romance genre is bold, inspiring, and a total must read.” — Rick Remender, Deadly Class, The Scumbag
"Love Everlasting is a perfectly crafted mystery from the brilliant mind of Tom King, like an everlasting episode of The Twilight Zone where Elsa Charretier shows us all she can draw EVERYTHING and she does it with apparent ease. Just a wonderful book by two of the best creators in comics!" — Francesco Francavilla
"Love Everlasting keeps the mystery of a good romance story alive even if some characters have to die in the process. You might think you know where the story is going, but love is as unpredictable as it is everlasting." — Fábio Moon
"Strong writing, impeccable art, and a style of storytelling that is wholly original." — AIPT
"Feels like an homage and a slight twist to the romance comic genre...it all feels updated and fits modern comics." — Graphic Policy
"A smart, terrifying upending of the romance genre. It reels you into a world that feels comfortable and familiar, before pulling the rug out from under you. You don't want to miss this fantastic new series." — Monkeys Fighting Robots
“Delivers genuine romantic melodrama. An uncommonly compelling first volume." — Library Journal (starred review)
“Piles on the thrills." — Publishers Weekly (starred review)

MONARCH #1
Story: Rodney Barnes | Art: Alex Lins | Covers: Alex Lins, Jason Shawn Alexander
Today, Eisner Award nominated Killadelphia writer Rodney Barnes reveals that the next title in his comic book canon, Monarch, will be with artist Alex Lins (Immortal Hulk) and out from Image Comics in February 2023.
Barnes is the award-winning television writer/producer behind HBO's Winning Time and the upcoming Monarch will be one of multiple series set to expand his comic book portfolio through his own Zombie Love Studios.
Monarch is a new tale of terror featuring high-stakes science fiction that hits close to home. “I’ve always loved films like Attack the Block and War of the Worlds, so I decided to put them together to see what would happen. The result? Monarch,” said Barnes.
Growing up in the city of Compton is tough enough as it is … but as Travon has learned all too well, growing up as an orphan in the city of Compton with gang members hunting you down every day is even tougher. But all of that is about to change because today is the day that aliens make first contact with Earth…and it only spells doom for life as we know it!
Death, devastation, and mayhem ... Can a single teenage boy rise to the challenge to protect his surrogate family & friends…or will he die trying?
Lins added: “I picked up Killadelphia as a fan without knowing who Rodney was at the time. It was so captivating, I finished it in a single sitting and wanted more. Just like Killadelphia, Monarch has this great concept with a perfect rhythm and flow. But what really struck me is that whatever genre the book he tackles — be it horror or sci-fi — Rodney will make it all relatable, however far you fancy yourself to be from the reality of these characters at first. And this is what I look for in a comic and what I love to help bring to life — this has been my favorite part with Monarch, as I prefer to draw a story with people in it that are completely three dimensional, rather than ‘concept placeholders.’ ”

This first book in a two-volume graphic novel series is set in a near-dystopian present, where mysterious creatures called "whols" coexist with humans since their sudden appearance a few years earlier. At first, they aroused curiosity and wonder, then their seemingly harmless presence became commonplace. Nineteen-year-old Orsay leads an uneventful life in the French countryside, until the day he gains extraordinary powers in his hands after an atypically aggressive encounter with a whol. On a trip to Paris in search of a cure, he meets and falls for Basma, a passionate activist for whols' rights. But Orsay isn't convinced that whols should be granted the same status as humans. Especially once Melek, another human with similar powers, embarks on a murderous rampage to avenge those she sees as her kin.

I AM THE LAW: HOW JUDGE DREDD PREDICTED OUR FUTURE TP
Story: Michael Molcher | Cover: Pye Parr | Rebellion / 2000 AD | Mature | $19.99
Judge, jury and executioner, Judge Dredd is the brutal comic book cop policing the chaotic future urban jungle of Mega-City One, created by John Wagner and Carlos Ezquerra and launching in the pages of 2000 AD in 1977. But what began as a sci-fi action comic quickly evolved into a searing satire on hardline, militarized policing and "law and order" politics, its endless inventiveness and ironic humour acting as a prophetic warning about our world today-and with important lessons for our future. Blending comic book history with contemporary radical theories on policing, I Am The Law takes key Dredd stories from the last 45 years and demonstrates how they provide a unique wake up call about our gradual, and not so gradual, slide towards authoritarian policing.
- Having just lived through the Tyre Nichols affair, I find this particularly timely.

Marriage doesn't define a relationship. Unless you want it to. In Marry Me a Little, Rob Kirby recounts his experience of marrying his longtime partner, John, just after gay marriage was legalized in Minnesota in 2013, and two years before the Supreme Court decision in Obergefell v. Hodges made gay marriage the law of the land. This is a personal story-about Rob's ambivalence (if not antipathy) toward the institution of marriage, his loving relationship with John, and the life that they share together-set against the historical and political backdrop of shifting attitudes toward gay rights and the institution of marriage. With humor and candor, Rob relates how he and John navigated this changing landscape, how they planned and celebrated their wedding, and how they and others in the gay community are now facing the very real possibility of setbacks to marriage equality.

"Lenny and Beardo are two childhood friends with a lot of road behind them. When Beardo's deadbeat dad dies and leaves them his old bar, they make a go of it as business partners. Easy enough, right? Maybe not.
Running a business in a low-traffic area of town isn't all it's cracked up to be, but luckily for the boys, the one-two punch of viral media attention when their neighbor gets crushed by a 747 engine that falls from the sky and a sorta suspect (but very potent) beer recipe they stumble into catch the public's imagination at just the right time.
Things get even more complicated when Lenny's ex-girlfriend Amanda shows up again, pregnant. Can our two heroes weather the ravages of success any better than they dealt with being losers? Can Lenny level up and be a good dad? Can Beardo forgive his dead, absentee father? Will the general public run them out of town when they find out what was actually in that beer?
Eduardo Medeiros (Funny Creek) delivers a graphic novel for anyone who's had more than their fair share of bad days and questionable choices! With an introduction by Skottie Young."

The Secret History of Black Punk is an illustrated roll-call for punk, post-punk, hardcore, no wave, and experimental bands from ground zero until now. A starting point for anyone curious, another reference for those who devour all genre-related things, or a cool artifact for them who already know.
This book is part of an ongoing series that covers musicians like Sister Rosetta Tharpe, Poly Styrene, Don Letts, Minority Threat, and many others. From LA to London, from the early 1900s till today, Buchanan examines and presents narratives to show how Black musicians shape (and are shaped by) the world we live in.
- Silver Sprocket has begun sending me DRCs. Maybe now instead of just scratching my head, I can actually say what these things are about.

UNDER THE BANNER OF KING DEATH GN
Story: Marcus Rediker | Art: David Lester | Beacon Press | $17.95
Set at the pinnacle of the "Golden Age" of Atlantic piracy, this novel follows three unlikely companions, who are sold into servitude on a merchant ship and unwittingly thrust into a voyage of rebellion. They are John Gwin, an African American fugitive from bondage in South Carolina; Ruben Dekker, a common seaman from Amsterdam; and Mark/Mary Reed, an American woman who defies stereotypes by dressing as a man. Mutiny ensues against the tyrannical Captain Skinner, who is thrown overboard to make way for democracy aboard The Night Rambler. The crew's new order provides radical social benefits, all based on real, documented practices of contemporary pirate ships: democratic decision-making, a social security net, health and disability insurance, and equal distribution of spoils taken from prize ships. Adapted from the scholarship and research of historian Marcus Rediker, Under the Banner of King Death will inspire readers with its tale of those on the bottom fighting back and achieving, against all odds, a democratic and egalitarian social order, if only for a short time.

I've wanted to read this, but if the publisher doesn't think enough of it to publish a hardback, I'm not going to get it. HC or bust!
That's kind of how I feel about breweries who put their beer in cans instead of bottles.
AVENGERS: KREE/SKRULL WAR GALLERY EDITION HC
I did not preorder this, but it's complete in MMW Avengers v10, which takes the arc through to #100. the "gallery edition" comprises only #89-97, which doesn't resolve. Still tempting, though...
What is he?
I've read like, one Bishop story.
I don't think even the Wehrmacht has a chance against undead Vikings.
Not if they're anything like these.
Or the draugr!

LITTLE MONSTERS #10 - Two good, but very different vampire books by Image
I've wanted to read this, but if the publisher doesn't think enough of it to publish a hardback, I'm not going to get it. HC or bust! - Maybe it is financially, viable for this series? I used to love when Image would price the first SC trade at $9.99. It was such a great way to try a series at a good price point.
Ughhh. They've screwed Bishop up so badly that they need to just kill him off. - The only time I recall enjoying Bishop was during the District X/Mutopia X era. I really liked those.
I'm waiting for Paisley Goblin. - Going the way of the Green Lanterns!
That's kind of how I feel about breweries who put their beer in cans instead of bottles. - I have to respectfully disagree, Jeff. I've never had skunky beer from a can of beer, but too many times with a bottle of beer, because of its exposure to light. I've really come around that cans are better.
I AM THE LAW: HOW JUDGE DREDD PREDICTED OUR FUTURE TP
The only Judge Dredd I've experienced was an original page I saw at a con. A petty thief who was a very fast runner took off. Dredd fired his weapon and intentionally took off both of his legs below the knee. I will never read his stories.
Way back in the 1980s I pulled over to a curb intending to enter a driveway. Changing my mind, I signaled to reenter the right lane. A motorcycle cop stopped me and said I had been in a "right turn only" lane and had gone through the intersection. Like he had seen me do this thing that he imagined. Even back then I knew that juries generally believe cops and I had no witnesses. He could say I did anything he wanted. I was White. He was White. He looked like a nice guy. But he was lying. I didn't challenge him and later paid the ticket for my only moving violation (to date). Even forty years ago I was afraid to challenge a cop. They are "more equal" than the rest of us.
When I was 19 in 1987 I pulled out of my mother's driveway in the "good" part of town in my uncle's Cadillac to go buy him cigarettes. (He gave me $20!)
I was pulled over instantly because, as one cop said (not to me, but to another cop), I was a long-haired kid in an expensive car. They beat me. They threw me on the ground and put a boot on my neck. They kicked me in the head. They never asked me for my license, or, in fact, talked to me at all. They just pulled me out of the car and beat me. Right in front of my Republican mother's house, where various GOP state and national elected officials had often dropped by for meetings and drinks.
And I was white. Can you imagine if I was Black? And in the "wrong" part of town? This was 35 years ago.
And I have a few more stories like that, because I'm the sort of guy who gets his back up when someone expects him to bend the knee. In college, I was attacked from left and right. But the only people who abandoned arguments and simply beat me were cops.
I'm not looking for martyrdom. Just saying.
I also hated Judge Dredd the first time I read him, Richard, because I thought it was a strip that supported the sort of fascist thing I'd already experienced. It's not admirable.
Then I realized that the Brits writing and drawing it were making fun of fascist cops. They were sticking their tongues out at the sort of cops I was familiar with, and daring them to do what they always do. I could get behind that.
But then Dredd lasted long enough to become a sort of hero. None of my favorite Brit writers were writing him any more. It became OK for cops to be fascists.
I can't get behind that. I stopped reading him when that happened. So now we're on the same page.
