  • It's sad that he couldn't be here to see where things are at the moment, although I'm not sure the King would like everything that's happened to all his "subjects" since he was last active on them.

Hopefully Kirby will get his complete due from the companies he worked for in time.

I know he will always receive them from his fans.

  • He wouldn't have liked the fact that Marvel made a ton of money of the Avengers movie, I can tell you that. His feeling about not receiving his fare share of the pie are well documented. Kind of puts Alan Moore's vendetta against DC in perspective, doesn't it?

  • From what I understand, both the Kirby and the Simon families do receive something whenever Captain America is used.  So, there's that at least.

  • While it might be as good a time as any to reflect on a person and their work, can it really be someone's birthday when they're dead?

  • Indeed!  The King of Comics

    and a Prince amongst men.

  • Indeed. Happy Birthday, Your Majesty!

  • It might not change the day someone was born but wishing a dead person happy birthday seems a tad morbid... ah, what the hey... HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

  • Bizarre to see even Jack's birthday used as a stick to beat Moore with.

    Smart!
