Finished A Princess of Mars. I thpught it was a fun read. It's always funny reading a book like this, because you realize you're been reading stuff that was derived from it your whole life without knowing it.  There's not alot of deep thought in it, and the book seems a little dated at times, but overall it's a nice rollicking little adventure.  I may well give the sequels a chance at some point.

Finished Things Japanese, by Basil Hall Chamberlain, originally published in 1901, the copy I have is a revised version form 1904.  It's a sort of encyclopedic collection of the author's thoughts and opinions about Japan.  It's interesting - somewhat racist in parts, but no more so than most educated Englishmen were at the time.

Updated.

Updated.

Updated. The ICO book was a "novelization" of a video game. Never played the game, but it was a fun story nevertheless.

Updated again.

Updated. I am a Cat was quite well-written - a little on the mengthy side, perhaps, and a wee bit deprssing.

Updated again.

Updated again.

Updated again. Just finished After the Banquet, by Yukio Mishima.  It's the story of a restauranteuse who marries a retired politican, and of how she finds marriage too constraining.  Interesting stuff.

Baron:

When you get a chance, could you please post some more details about #67?

Actually, I did post a little about it in the Dark Shadows thread. I gotta run right now, but when I get a chance, I'll find and copy here what I posted there.
