  • Impressive and pretty comprehensive.

It is too bad that so much is still unclear or implied.

    For instance:

    • I am still unsure of how Convergence relates to Rebirth.
    • According to the 2008-2009 five-issue series "Final Crisis: Legion of Three Worlds", the Threeboot Legion actually exists (and presumably always did) in the Earth-Prime Universe - the same one where Superboy-Prime came from, and also the homeworld of the several DC staff members in stories published in 1968 and 1975. Also Ultraa's homeworld in pre-Crisis continuity. To the best of my knowledge it was recreated in 2009 and the Threeboot Legion still exists there.
    • Has it been established whether Flashpoint affected the Legion at all? It may well be that vol 6 and Vol 7 cover the same Legion.
    • In 2014-2016 there was a "Justice League 3000/3001" book being published. I do not particularly want that book to be in continuity (or even remembered at all) and it apparently existed in its own continuity pocket (treated as an alternate future, I think), but it had quite a few appearances of Takron-Galtos and five of Lady Styx's "Legion of Death", an evil version of traditional members of the LSH and therefore a precursor of sorts to Darkseid's Legion.
  • I have a theory that the DCU has rebooted much more often than Crisis, Flashpoint, Convegence, etc. I've long considered compiling such a flowchart using the following touchstones (among others)...

    • Did Clark Kent have a career as Superboy?
    • Did Batman ever solve his parents' murder?
    • Was Wonder Woman a charter member of the JLA?
    • Who is the Time Trapper?
    • A bigger question at the moment might be should there or even will there be a Time Trapper in the upcoming Legion series, let alone was there a Time Trapper in all the other versions? That could be omnious, especially if it turned out to be the exact same being in each reality!

    • Time Trapper has already been (at random times): Cosmic Boy, Barbara Gordon, Superboy-Prime, Doomsday and a random Controller. Time Trapper has changed "secret identities" so often that it is my pet theory that every "new universe" has it's own Time Trapper. (It is also my pet theory that every "new number one" launches a new universe.)

    • Well, I knew the last part of my previous post wasn't possible Jeff, but I still don't think that the presence of a Time Trapper has been established in every Legion series. Has it?

    • I still don't think that the presence of a Time Trapper has been established in every Legion series. Has it?

Probably not, but I suspect there are "Time Trappers" who have never made their presence known whom we are unaware of.

    • In a way, it is thanks to the Time Trapper that there is Legion at all right now (as we saw in the very recent Superman Annual with whichever power of ten as its number).

As for it being the same entity at any point... I don't think we know enough to say with any authority; what evidence we do have is so inconsistent that it sort of makes a complete turn and implies that it may well be so.

  • I don't see the existence of the Time Trapper (or a Time Trapper) to be Legion-specific per se, but here's sometning that is. At various times, different versions of the LSH have drawn inspiration from one 20th century teenage hero or anopther. Most often, that's [one version or another of] Clark Kent, but at various times it has also been...

    • Conner Kent (Kon-El)
    • Supergirl (post-Infinite Crisis)
    • Jon Kent

In one on the 'infinite Earths" (or the 52, if you prefer), it has even been Robin (Dick Grayson).

    • In the 5YL timeline it was Mon-El (even though they call him Valor).

    • Ah, yes. Good catch! (I had forgotten.)

It also occurs to me that Geoff Johns' run from Action Comics (late 2007–2008), my favorite of the recent* LSH, is not included on the flowchart.

*(I say "recent" but it's been nearly 20 years now.)
