Hokey smokes...call backs to silver age stories and covers, Frank Miller poses from The Dark Knight Returns, internet joke site in-jokes, quotes from the first Chris Reeve film...this one had it all.

Not to mention a visual homage to the second Reeves film.

And, quite probably, the bluest joke you'll ever hear in a Superman cartoon.

In short, a good time was had by all.
