Bean added: "I’ve loved comic books since I was a kid and it’s been a dream come true to reimagine Gert and get to work with Skottie on the new series."

TONY STARK MUST FIGHT HIS WAY OUT OF ROCK BOTTOM IN INVINCIBLE IRON MAN BY GERRY DUGGAN AND JUAN FRIGERI

INVINCIBLE IRON MAN #1 arrives this December

New York, NY— August 19, 2022 — On the eve of the character’s 60th anniversary, Iron Man will begin a new era this December. Writer Gerry Duggan (X-Men) and artist Juan Frigeri (Avengers) will kick off a new run of IRON MAN’s solo title that will bring Tony Stark to his darkest depths only to rise greater than ever before! INVINCIBLE IRON MAN will follow Christopher Cantwell’s thought-provoking run on the title that concludes in November’s IRON MAN #750, the upcoming milestone issue that will give fans their first glimpse of what’s to come in this new chapter. The ongoing series will begin with Tony reflecting on the highs and lows of his 60 years of history, including digging up some classic armors and confronting old wounds, to overcome a devastating defeat at the hands of a Marvel villain who’s been making big waves throughout the Marvel Universe recently.

It all ends here? Tony Stark, the genius-billionaire-playboy-philanthropist, has lost it all: his wealth…his fame…his friends. But Stark doesn’t realize he still has so much more to lose, especially when a mystery villain puts out a hit on him! Every assassin around the Marvel Universe has come out of the shadows for Tony — and he has no idea who hired them! Will this cavalcade of killers close the book on Iron Man? It’s the beginning of the end, as the Golden Avenger must fight for his life and find out what it really means to hit rock bottom.

“It's my privilege to try and follow Christopher Cantwell and his collaborators' stellar run on IRON MAN heading into an anniversary year,” Duggan said. “Juan and I are going to introduce a new menace that is gunning for Tony Stark and his greatest creation. We have an epic tale for Stark and plans for old foes, including flashbacks to some of his classic armors. How about a little Silver Centurion for his diamond anniversary? Armor up, you're gonna need it.”

Legendary Hellboy Creator Mike Mignola, Acclaimed Artist Ben Stenbeck, and Award-Winning Colorist Dave Stewart Present KOSCHEI IN HELL

An All-New Four-Issue Miniseries From Dark Horse Comics On Sale in November

MILWAUKIE, Ore., (August 19, 2022)— Legendary Hellboy creator Mike Mignola is returning to Hell, along with acclaimed artist Ben Stenbeck and award-winning colorist Dave Stewart, for KOSHCHEI IN HELL, an all-new four-issue miniseries from Dark Horse Comics. Sent to kill Hellboy by the Baba Yaga in Hellboy: Darkness Calls, Koshchei the Deathless hinted at a long and tragic life before being enslaved to the Slavic witch. Now, in this new series, Koshchei is still in Hell content with his wine and his books—until an old associate arrives and brings Koshchei a critical task. An ancient and powerful foe is returning, and Koshchei must take up his sword to defend Pandemonium from destruction.

“It’s always a pleasure working with Ben, as he can really do everything,” said Mignola. “And there’s just something about how he does things—something very natural and almost quiet—subtle—til it’s time to NOT be subtle. It just really works with the kind of stories I’m trying to tell. And Koshchei—I just love this guy. I’ve really put him through the wringer, but he keeps on going. And Hell—well, is it odd to say I love that place?”

“Koshchei would love to just sit back and read books and drink wine in his socks,” said Stenbeck. “That’s the series Koshchei wants this to be. But that's not what he's getting. He has to leave the house. Then he's going to run into a lot of familiar faces and meet some new ones, and they are pretty much all asking for a fight. Poor old Koshchei, it's never easy.”

In November Mignola, Stenbeck, and Stewert return to Hell, and to the bizarre folklore that’s filled some of the greatest books of the Hellboy Universe. The debut issue of KOSHCHEI IN HELL is on sale on November 30, 2022. For more information, follow Dark Horse Comics on social media for more news, announcements, and updates.

GOLDEN AGE HERO BOB PHANTOM RETURNS IN A SHADOWY NOIR REBOOT!

The mysterious Archie Comics character descends on New York in a new take from James III and Richard Ortiz this November

Archie Comics is bringing the classic superhero BOB PHANTOM out of the Golden Age vault and into the modern era in an all-new one-shot comic book hitting stores in November! Writer James III (Netflix's Astronomy Club) and artist Richard Ortiz (THE FOX) set their mind-bending noir-tinged adventure in the shadowy alleyways of New York City's theater district, with a hero who may be the story's villain, as well.

“[James] is the exact type of person you want on a project like this," said Archie Comics Senior Director of Editorial Jamie L. Rotante. "He's dusting off Bob Phantom's cobwebs and giving him a second chance to be a main event player."

Bob Phantom was one of Archie's earliest superhero characters, introduced in 1939's BLUE RIBBON COMICS #2 in a story drawn by comics legend Irv Novick. Boasting a multitude of superpowers and talents, he fought crime by night and worked as theater critic and gossip columnist Walt Whitney by day, often antagonizing police. In the new version, James III explores the possibility that Walt's anti-authoritarian streak may run deeper than the surface as he creates news in order to report it.

James said, "With BOB PHANTOM, I wanted to explore what it means to write news today when everyone gets their news from the headlines on their Twitter feed without reading the articles, and you can’t tell what’s legitimate and what’s fake. (To use loaded terminology.) This might make you question your validity as a journalist and your worth as a person in society. I was heavily inspired by crime stories with news elements like Road to Perdition and Nightcrawler. What brings a person to snap pictures first and provide assistance later or not at all?"

Bob Phantom's fanciful powers may also be too fanciful to be true, as the new story takes a surreal turn into Walt's dreams. Jamie added, "We'll see glimpses of the cold realities of the real world alongside dreamscapes of the imagination. The juxtaposition of the two takes this from a standard superhero story to something that deftly blends surrealism with noir. There's a lot going on in this story, and a lot that can be carried over into more in the future!”

BOB PHANTOM releases November 16 in comic shops nationwide and is available for pre-order now. It will feature a cover by Tim Seeley and Matt Herms as well as an open-to-order variant cover by Jamal Igle.

Visit the official Archie Comics website for more information, follow us on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook for the latest news and updates!

BOB PHANTOM ONE-SHOT

By day, he’s Walter Whitney, a fledgling theater columnist with a wild imagination, but by night he’s Bob Phantom, the “Scourge of the Underworld” — or is he? Using his power to become immaterial, Walt beats up criminals and then breaks the news of his exploits in his newspaper column . . . but New York City is not as it once was, and with less crime that means less news. So, if there’s no crime left to fight, there’s only one thing to do: create enemies. Is Bob Phantom really the Scourge of the Underworld, or its leader?

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin Hardcover Attains Coveted New York Times Bestseller Status

IDW Publishing Makes Extraordinary Order for 100K More Copies, With Whopping Initial 60K Print Run Expected to Sell Out After Only Six Weeks

SAN DIEGO, CA (August 19, 2022) – Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin, the heartrending revenge story of the last surviving Ninja Turtle, continues its unparalleled trajectory of success! IDW, in partnership with Paramount Consumer Producers, announced today that its hardcover collection, originally released in July, has made the New York Times bestseller list and is tracking for a complete sell-out of its ambitious 60,000-unit print run within its first six weeks of availability.

For those concerned about getting their hands on the biggest graphic novel release of 2022, never fear! In an unprecedented move by a comic book publisher, IDW has ordered a massive new printing of the hardcover to the tune of 100,000 units, with the first wave of these freshly printed beauties arriving in mid-September.

Springing from a lost 1987 storyline by TMNT co-creators Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird, The Last Ronin tells the story of a sole, shrouded Turtle in a dark possible future, undertaking a seemingly hopeless mission to obtain justice for his fallen family and friends. The kinetic layouts from Eastman, atmospheric illustrations from Isaac and Esau Escorza and Ben Bishop, a thrilling script full of surprises from longtime TMNT scribe Tom Waltz, and bold hues from colorist Luis Antonio Delgado instantly resonated with fans and critics alike. Debuting in October 2020 as a quarterly periodical in a prestige oversized format, The Last Ronin took the comic world by storm, eventually leading to over 840,000 units of the individual comic books in print and adaptations to action figures and statues.

“When Kevin first came to me with the idea of adapting his and Peter’s 1987 outline into what became The Last Ronin, I was pretty sure our story had the kind of evergreen legs necessary to be an extremely popular addition to the long-running and multi-faceted TMNT lore. But I never anticipated the immense sales and critical success it would generate,” says Waltz. “Its popularity has already gone far above and beyond my initial expectations, and I count myself lucky to have been able to be a part of the amazing team that brought it all together for the many fans and retailers who have so quickly and consistently embraced the Ronin-verse. And the craziest thing of all is that we’re just getting started!”

Spurred by the extraordinary performance of The Last Ronin, IDW recently announced a prequel miniseries, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin–The Lost Years, with its debut issue slated for a December release. Reuniting Eastman, Waltz, and Bishop, and adding artist SL Gallant to the roster, The Lost Years digs deeper into the world of the Ronin-verse, adding breadth and scope to one of TMNT’s most ravenously devoured entries of all time.

“From the very start, The Last Ronin has consistently exceeded expectations,” says publisher Nachie Marsham. “Its gripping concept unearthed after three decades, the passion and mastery of craft as executed by the entire creative team, the unwavering faith of IDW staff and our partners at Nickelodeon in the project, the unbridled intensity of fans and heartfelt support of retailers, the universal acclaim from critics—it’s been a joy to watch The Last Ronin unfold, and I’m looking forward to even more readers getting the chance to dive into this story and see what the excitement’s all about for themselves!”

The Magic of Friendship Grows Up in IDW's Coming-of-Age Adaptation of Little Women, My Little Pony: Classics Reimagined—Little Fillies

Celebrate a Decade of My Little Pony Comics with a Fun, Frolicking Twist on Louisa May Alcott's Masterpiece and an Encore Presentation of Friendship is Magic #1

SAN DIEGO, CA (August 18, 2022) – To commemorate ten years of publishing My Little Pony comic books based on the ever-popular Friendship is Magic franchise, IDW announces the October debut of My Little Pony: Classics Reimagined—Little Fillies, a four-issue miniseries that serves as the first in a series of My Little Pony adaptations of cherished literary classics, as well as the special November release of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic 10th Anniversary Edition.

My Little Pony: Classics Reimagined—Little Fillies, written by Megan Brown, illustrated by Jenna Ayoub, and colored by Heather Breckel, is a new series about love, life, and sisterhood. Rainbow Dash, Twilight Sparkle, Fluttershy, and Rarity take on the roles of the March sisters, dreaming of life beyond Broncord, Massahoofetts. Rainbow Dash in particular yearns for excitement—something to write about. So when Applejack, the Marches’ neighbor, arrives home with tales of eel-wrangling and apple-eating, Rainbow Dash and her sisters dare to hope for more.

“I’m really honored to be able to adapt one of the most timeless pieces of American literature for the wonderfully vibrant world of My Little Pony,” says Brown. “Every time that I consume the story of Little Women, I find something new that really speaks to me on my own journey, and tackling that timeless appeal with amazing characters—like Rainbow Dash, a.k.a Jo—has been such a joy. I hope that returning readers find a little something that speaks to them, and that new readers are introduced to the classic story of some very remarkable women…or fillies, as the case may be,” says Megan Brown.

“Working with Megan's script has been a delight. And I'm all about drawing ponies in hoop skirts!” says Ayoub.

“Little Fillies kicks off our first series in the Classics Reimagined line. It’s a hilarious, heart-warming, meta, pony-fied take on Louisa May Alcott’s novel. The ponies fit surprisingly well into the roles of the titular women—Rarity is such an Amy—and the creative team has done an amazing job translating the novel into a comic series that My Little Pony and literature fans alike will love,” says editor Riley Farmer.

My Little Pony: Classics Reimagined—Little Fillies #1 will be available with multiple cover variants for retailers and fans to enjoy, including Cover A by series artist Jenna Ayoub, Cover B by Agnes Garbowska, and a special Retailer Incentive variant by Rose Bousamra.

My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic—10th Anniversary Edition revisits the bestselling issue that started it all, written by Katie Cook, illustrated by Andy Price, and colored by Heather Breckel! Ever since their comic book debut, Twilight Sparkle, Applejack, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, and Rarity have brought friendship, magic, and fun to comic lovers everywhere. Join them at the very beginning of their decade-long journey with this special reprint issue, with bonus material including a gallery of all eight original covers, an interview with My Little Pony artist and writer Tony Fleecs, and an all-new short from Jeremy Whitley!

“We wanted to pay homage to such a long-standing comic series and take some time to reflect on the past ten years. The 10th Anniversary Edition revisits #1 and includes some bonus content that might just change your perspective on the entire series,” says Farmer.

Like the Little Fillies debut issue, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic 10th Anniversary Edition will be available with multiple cover variants, including Cover A by Amy Mebberson, Cover B by Andy Price, Cover C by Agnes Garbowska, and two special Retailer Incentive variants by Mebberson and Price, respectively.

For information on how to acquire My Little Pony comics and graphic novels from IDW, please contact your local comic shop or visit www.comicshoplocator.com to find a store near you.

Dead Seas by Cavan Scott and Nick Brokenshire Debuts in December as IDW Original Series

New York Times Bestselling Author and Celebrated Star Wars Artist Helm a Comic Book Miniseries of Phantasms and Floating Prisons

SAN DIEGO, CA (August 18, 2022) – IDW is proud to announce the December release of Dead Seas, the highly-anticipated original comic book series by Cavan Scott and Nick Brokenshire. Part Poseidon Adventure, part The Haunting of Hill House, this supernatural thriller reunites the fan-favorite Star Wars writer-and-artist team for a tale of specters, prisoners, pirates, and disaster on the open ocean!

In Dead Seas, ghosts are real and very dangerous…but they’re also valuable, their ectoplasm capable of curing countless diseases. There’s only one problem: harvesting the wonder drug can be just as deadly. Prisoner Gus Ortiz is willing to take the risk in return for a reduced sentence—anything to see his daughter again. All it will take is a few months at sea scraping ectoplasm off the walls of the Perdition, a floating prison containing the most vicious ghosts on Earth. Surrounded by dark waters, Gus soon realizes that angry spirits are the least of his worries!

“I grew up obsessed with disaster movies, but there was only one problem: there were never enough ghosts! Dead Seas is my chance to put this terrible wrong right, and who better to team up with than Nick Brokenshire. Working together on Star Wars Adventures: Return to Vader’s Castle, it soon became clear that we share the same ghoulish sense of humor and I knew immediately who I wanted to bring Dead Seas’ tortured spirits to life. Or should that be death?” says Scott.

“I have something of a sea-faring background—my dad was a deep-sea diver, my sister an accomplished sailor, and I enjoy long soaks in a bubble-bath—so the whole sea adventure angle is very appealing to me. Add weird, twisted ghouls and the recipe is delicious, I'd say!” says Brokenshire. “The idea of very flawed individuals finding goodness in themselves in spite of very strange and frightening circumstances is something that I think many of us are drawn to. In the end, we all hope we'll do the right thing when faced with a giant, amorphous, killer-baby-ghost.”

“From the moment Cavan and Nick pitched us Dead Seas, I was hooked. Cavan's a brilliant storyteller, and I’m genuinely terrified for the well-rounded characters in the amazing, action-filled tale that he’s crafted. Not to mention, Nick's artwork has never looked better—the ghost designs are totally off the wall,” says editor Chase Marotz. “We’re absolutely thrilled to see Dead Seas take shape as an IDW Original series”

Dead Seas #1 will be available with three variant covers for fans and retailers to enjoy, including Cover A by Nick Brokenshire, Cover B by Scott’s Star Wars: The High Republic collaborator Ario Anindito, and Cover C by Frazer Irving (Batman & Robin).

For information on how to acquire copies of the Dead Seas comic books, please contact your local comic shop or visit www.comicshoplocator.com to find a store near you.
