I was watching the Savage/Warrior "retirement" match on disk last night, and it came to the ending where Elizabeth threw Sherri out of the ring, and the thought came to me, "Both of these women are dead now, it's depressing."

Hogan was on the Dennis Miller Show today and did speak a bit about the Australia tour.

Hogan's blading from a punch to the head?
Last night's Raw - a battle royal was announced by Vince and guest host Jesse The Body The Governor Ventura (guest hosts have total power and Jesse made Vince join him at the announcers' table, and made him dress in a tux and bow tie). I was disappointed we did not hear Vince say "Whatta manoooooooover" or "Next week on the Soooooooouperstars of Wrestling" but we did get a classic out of Jesse:

"Shut Up McMahon!"
Notes from figurefourwrestling.com:

Alexis Pillman, stepdaughter of Brian Pillman, died last night in a car accident. She was 26 and had been working some shows as a valet.

Bo and Duke Rotundo, sons of Mike Rotunda, are the Florida Championship Wrestling tag champions.
Been watching that recently-released "never before on video or DVD" Hulk Hogan set that the WWE put out. Holy cats, I had forgotten just how much the face announcers smooched Hogan's posterior back in the 80's - I mean, they were downright worshipful, to an extent that sounds positively grotesque to me, listening to it, now. I feel bad for guys like Monsoon and Superstar Graham, particularly, having to talk about Hogan like he was Gandhi, or something.

I'd also forgotten how "out there" some of Hogan's promos were back then - only a rung or two down the Ladder of Disconnected Gibberish from the Ultimate Warrior and Final Crisis. I mean, he used to talk at length about how God was a Hulkamaniac and that He maintained a memorial wall in Heaven of all the dead Hulkamaniacs and that when he (Hogan) died, he would bring the WWF Championship to Heaven and wrestle all the Hulkamaniacs that had gone before him. I can only assume that no one from any religious group was watching wrestling back then, because they would surely have been horrified to hear this stuff.
It looks like it's happened again...

The following is an article from www.F4WOnline.com:

Former WWE star Umaga hospitalized Edward Fatu, 36, is hospitalized in Houston and in what was described as life threatening condition by a long-time friend.

Details are sketchy at this point but he apparently fell asleep last night while watching television, and several hours later, his wife found him not breathing with blood coming out of his nose and he was rushed to the hospital.

According to two sources, PWTorch has been told that former WWE star Umaga (Eddie Fatu) was found dead today by his wife. Another source say he is hospitalized in grave condition on life support.

The suspicion is prescription pills is the cause, as Umaga was reportedly found bleeding from his nose and mouth.

We have also learned that WWE will be issuing a statement later today or this weekend.

Umaga was released from his WWE contract in June after failing WWE's Wellness Policy for the second time. He was on the Hulkamania Tour in Australia that just concluded last weekend.

Mr. Kennedy (Ken Anderson) was on the Australian Tour and posted a brief note on Twitter: "Say a prayer for my boy Umaga."

Umaga passes away
Edward "Umaga"Fatu passed away around 6 p.m. Eastern time after suffering a second heart attack while in the hospital. He was 36.

I think I may have seen him once, but I was a fan of his brothers in the 80s and 90s.
I've seen him a couple of times - he came up right around the time I stopped watching new wrestling (I still watch some of the retrospective collections Vince puts out). He played the stereotypical "Samoan wildman", and did a fairly good job of it.
From the Wrestling Observer:

According to a WWE source who would have full knowledge of the situation, Bret Hart has indeed signed a short-term talent contract with World Wrestling Entertainment.

The WWE Hall of Famer signed the this past week and it will cover the period from 1/1 to 4/10, or through WrestleMania and about two weeks after the 3/28 show at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, AZ.

Hart simply told a reliable source that he wasn't going to lie about anything and thus wasn't going to comment on this story.

It was said that Hart wanted his signing to be kept quiet and his return to be a surprise, but that WWE couldn't help itself but all but announced it publicly on the first RAW after the ink was dry.
