Horrific and unexpected for anyone-- but it will hit more people who remember "Meathead" and know that his work includes two of the most-quoted films of all time.
Also-- and I mean this sincerely-- WT actual F?

The only things I agree with are the very first and last lines.
No matter what the circumstances, no matter the news, no matter how remote it is from his life, it's ALL ABOUT HIM.
When asked about this post by a reporter, he went on another rant, and actually referred to himself in the third person-- you know, in the manner of Victor Von Doom, Galactus, and other supervillains with god complexes.
Yet another statement to lose him more support.
This statement reflects the jealousy of the writer. He's a former reality show star, which by definition makes him at best a C-list celebrity, whereas Rob Reiner is unquestionably A-list. The author of that post has always craved to be A-list and to get the adoration of the A-list crowd as well as the people who love them. But he can't get it, because -- and he proves this over and over again, like with this post -- money can't buy class.
As someone said of that poster, "every attack is a confession."
Horrible news, on so many levels.
Not only was Reiner the director and producer of so many great films, but he was also an outspoken activist. He was instrumental in overturning California’s Prop 8, which had banned same-sex marriage.
This is a tragedy on every level. What a great talent, what a passionate activist, what a terrific guy. From Meathead to Spinal Tap, always way ahead of the class.
Coincidentally, Joan and I watched Spinal Tap II: The End Continues last night. Then later I'm doom-scrolling and see that the guy I just saw on TV has just been murdered. I have no words.
