Silver Age Lana Lang's Little Brothers

As I understand it, the Silver Age Lana Lang was, at one time or another, depicted as having three different little brothers: Ronald, Larry and Alvin.

Here's my question: Was she - in the Silver Age- ever depicted as having more than one little brother at once, or was it, as I suspect,  that she had little brother, but the writers were inconsistent over the years as to what the little fellow's name was?

  • And whatever happened to him? I smell  a mystery!

  • None of them ever appeared together in a story--and only Alvin had two--so I would imagine they were a brother and nobody bothered to check on his name (even though Ronald and Larry both appeared in 1951. Ah, the wonders of knowing your audience and stories are extremely ephemeral!).

Alvin showed up twice, in 1953 and 1956 in one story per year and then was sent to a farm upstate to play with the bunnies and unicorns. Thankfully, no one went to visit him once the Silver Age started.

  • Ah,OK, thank you for the info.

  • What a shame the one-timers weren't named Simon and Theodore.
  • And they were all raised by Lana's Uncle Dave.

  • At least they weren't raised by her uncle Phineas. They'd all be fat or rubbery or human flamethrowers.

  • The Adventures of Uncle Phineas and his Elastic Flamethrowers.

I'd buy that for a dollar.

  • Donald three nephews, Popeye had three nephews, as noted 3 chipmunks...  3 is a popular number.

  • I went to check up on-line what the names of Lana Lang's three brothers were in the Silver Age, and this thread was one of the first things to come up! Just for the record, I find the following first appearances for them:

    Larry:  Superboy #13 (March-April 1951)

Ronald:  Adventure Comics #168 (September 1951)

    Alvin:  Superboy #26 (June 1953)

I'm open to correction on any of these dates, of course.

  • I want a 12-issue maxiseries written by Roy Thomas that explains how Lana's kid brother kept changing names. And also how it connects to Dr. Fate's half-helmet and Aquaman's yellow gloves.
