Silver Age Trivia Challenge at C2E2!

I'm pleased to say that the Chicago Comics & Entertainment Expo (C2E2) has invited back the Mr. Silver Age Trivia Challenge for this year's show!

Mark Waid will take on a panel of trivia geeks to determine who knows more thoroughly useless information about Marvel and DC comics from the 1960s! Mr. Silver Age himself will serve as moderator and question maker-upper.

The event will take place from 3 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 20th. The room assignment will be announced later.

The full schedule of events for that day can be found here: http://c2e211.mapyourshow.com/3_0/sessions/result.cfm?Date=03/20/2011

  • I just thought I'd remind people that this senses-shattering event is taking place this weekend in Chicago!

It'll be interesting to see what a con in Chicago in March looks like. The doors don't open to the public until 1 p.m. on Friday, no doubt a nod to the fact that it's not really vacation season, so I'll be curious to see what the traffic is like. Our event is midafternoon on Sunday, and hopefully there will still be a decent crowd. Fortunately, the weather is virtually balmy today, although it's supposed to be a little cooler this weekend, but not what it might be.

I'm also hoping to get some good cosplay photos, similar to my great Black Widow shot last year that made front-page news (you can read about that here: http://cbgxtra.com/columnists/craig-shutt-ask-mr-silver-age/the-bla...). There's a costume contest on both Friday and Saturday, so I'm hoping to see lots of good costumes. And, oh yes, a few comics bargains.

  • The Comics Alliance website (and no doubt many more) picks the Silver Age Trivia Challenge at today's C2E2 as one of the Don't Miss events of the show! Time's awasting! http://www.comicsalliance.com/2011/03/17/c2e2s-panels-events/
  • The Trivia Challenge was a lot of fun, with a bit more drama than usual. Owing to the usual rapidly escalating point value on the Lightning Round questions and the Fans actually nailing a few of them, Waid had to answer the last question to secure his win! A full report will be coming in the May issue of CBG.

C2E2 in general was a good time and considerably more crowded than last year, which bodes well for the show, as it was about a month earlier.

It was so much fun, some people just couldn't help dancing! http://www.comicsalliance.com/2011/03/24/c2e2-dance-party-video/
