Well spotted Jeff, it may even been that Challengers cover I was remembering. I checked through Marvel/ Timely monster books and never considered DC. Good trio.
If you start with cover of the March 1954 issue of Astounding Science Fiction...
...combine it with the "Dark Ones" coming for Psyklop in Hulk #140...
...and add in the "guy running in panic" from the cover of Action Comics #1...
...you get the inside cover of Queen's News of the World:
A high night flyer...

We had that on the playlist for our party Saturday.
