I was looking through some old comics when I thought of a new game. I call it Three of a Kind. Here's my first entry.

LOL! Nice selection. Although the FF isn't really a spoiler and the X-Men won't be a spoiler for many years!

I could remember "the real reason Batman's goofing off" on the first cover, so guessed what the connection would probably be.  Checking plot summaries for the other two covers on GCD confirmed my guess.  Congratulations on a very clever and subtle three-of-a-kind!

There's a surprising number of covers out there showing a character sitting in a barber's chair.  Here's a subset of that collection with far fewer members.

Interesting that even in 1942 the 100th issue was referred to as "100th anniversary."

I see where you're going with this, Dave.  You've got a long path ahead of you, and it might start to get a bit difficult to keep finding three of a kind well before you reach this comic!

The Beano has been published weekly since 1938, and issue #4000 came out at the end of August 2019.
