I read two other articles (which I can post if you want) other than the NBC one about the Paramount "hostile bid." After they made the announcement about Netflix, Paramount complained that they weren't informed before the news broke. Paramount's bid is for EVERYTHING including CNN, TBS and TNT. Trump would LOVE to shut down or muzzle CNN. The bid has billions of dollars from Saudi Arabia and Trump's son-in-law Gerald Kushner. Going directly to the shareholders with a (so far) slightly higher bid per share.

What does Paramount buying Warner Bros mean for DC Comics?
It's not addtessed in the article, but Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion are favorite targets of the current administration. Paramount has become an unofficial arm of the administration. We can probably expect them to get around to targeting gay characters and likely some staff members.
Likewise, I'd think shows like Last Week Tonight and Have I Got News For You will probably also be in danger.
