Jimmy Palmiotti on Hex, the comic, the character, the movie

While parts of my interview with Jonah Hex co-writer Jimmy Palmiotti were used in my recent newspaper column (see previous post), some parts were necessarily left out due to space. But why should the Legionnaires miss out? I've posted the full interview at our sister site CBGXtra.com!

I appreciate that the filmmakers went to Jimmy Palmiotti for guidance, but it doesn't seem right that they didn't talk to Michael Fleischer; he was THE Jonah Hex writer for two decades and shaped the character more than anyone.

I've gotten the impression that Fleisher is persona non grata in the industry. Maybe for his lawsuit against Harlan Ellison, I dunno. Regardless, I haven't heard anything good about him from a pro in a long time, and pros are usually reluctant to badmouth each other.
