I didn't entirely get the intended construction of the jokes in the Sunday Bizzaro (Sp??) strip yesterday .   ( The strip appars to be not online , as it is a King Features Syndicate strip , who - Gasp !!! - appear to think they're in the comics business to make money , and keep their strips behind a wall . )

The joke was " variations on ' I Love New York ' "...but was the panhandler's shirt supposed to be saying " I Owe New York " ?"  I Have Zero , New York " ?

The yokel , in Middle Ages garb...Was his shirt suppost'a mean " I Love York " , as in the English county that New York was indeed named after ??? ( And Prince Charles is now considered the Duke of , if I recall correctly . )

You just gotta love Pete's expression in the third panel

...I'll comment later on the use of newspaper headlines within the Spidey sttrip (and the never-decided as to whether the Bugle in tabloid or broadsheet in page format - Oh , and JJJ somehow got the papewr back - Maybe ikt was robbie at the wheel , still ? - to have a headline like " The City Is Safe " ~ ?!

I did not see the Ant-Man movie . Was Hank Pym shown as oold-looking as the strip shoed him here ? Was Scott Lang still an ex-convict , or have his daughter , in the movie ?

I never saw the Ant-Man picture, either, but I'm given to understand that Michael Douglas played Hank Pym, and he's fairly old.

The depiction of Hank in the strip was close to what he looked like in the movie.

If you have an opportunity to see the Ant-Man movie, jump at it. It's one of the most enjoyable Marvel superhero movies, managing to balance serious and light-hearted scenes.

What Richard Willis said.

...The Spidey strip is now featuring Rocket Raccoon ! And Ronan the Accuser...Is it an established joke that RR does not like being called a " raccoon " ?

(Apparently , it was a joke established for the GOTG movie's presentation of him .)

Dick Tracy and the Spirt meeting up was fun, but not half as fun as Honeymoon Tracy and Sammy meeting :)

They do a great job with these meetings and guest appearances.

I just wish they'd publish some of these on paper.

This past week it is no longer necessary to enlarge each daily strip on GoComics; they now display in large format. Nice!

...I peresume that SOME foolscap newspapers SOMEWHERE publish all officially syndicated strips !

I was unclear. I meant collected reprint editions.

The Dragon Lady still smokes, but not everyone likes it.  The Dick Tracy Comic strip has a great job here.
