  • I must be getting old - my first thought when I heard this was "It's gonna depend on how much they charge for it."

  • Despite that Indy Star article being rife with inaccuracies (e.g., the show was twice-weekly, not twice-daily; the feature film came between Season One and Season Two, not Season Two and Season Three), and very lean on actual product details, I remain cautiously excited. If this thing really and truly is going to come out this year, it definitely shoots to the top of my must-have list. The complete "Many Loves of Dobie Gillis" came out last year, so having "Batman" available would be the icing on my cake.

  • My prayers have been answered!

Even after reading Dave's post, I remain guardedly optimistic.

  • I'm hoping for some great bonus features!

  • That would be the only thing that would interest me at this point. I think I can still watch the show on Sunday's if I desire. Then again, I honestly don't buy very many DVDs at all.

  • I own the DVD of the 1966 movie, and the commentaries from Adam West and Burt Ward are definitely worth the price. Not to mention it's a really fun movie.
  • About bloody time!

  • Here's a short article from USA Today. They seem to have confirmed the facts.

  • I've always wanted to have BATMAN on DVD, but didn't want to buy a bootleg. I'm very happy about it.

Tying up all the rights must've been murder. Not only do they have to settle the rights between Warner and Fox, they have to negotiate pay for all the cameo actors and music.

  • From USA Today: However, the many colorful villains they faced on a weekly basis were arguably more of a draw, with a stable of mainstays including the Joker (Cesar Romero), the Penguin (Burgess Meredith), the Riddler (Frank Gorshin) and three different women to wear the tight leather of Catwoman (Lee Meriwether, Eartha Kitt and Julie Newmar).

Why is it so hard for reporters to get this stuff right? Lee Meriwether NEVER appeared on the TV show, only in the movie. Sheesh!
