  • And I wouldn't have thought to start this if I didn't have a candidate in mind. But I just read a galley of Scott McCloud's The Sculptor and it is STUNNING. It's out the first week in February, and it's a wholly incredible work.

Don't hesitate on this one, just read it, read it, read it. It's a knockout, and a shoo-in for a nomination for Best OGN from me.

  • Thanks for starting this Rob. It's always been helpful to have a thread like this.
  • Thanks for getting this started, Rob.  It would probably be a good idea to pin this to the top of the general discussion page (and allow the 2014 thread to lapse).

I also have an idea I want to save for later: Tales of the Batman: Len Wein would be a pretty good nominee for best reprint or archive.  It came out on Dec. 31st but could probably count for 2015.

  • I also have an announcement to make: I've been running the Cappies for 10 years and I'm ready to pass the baton. Is anyone interested in taking over for next year?

  • At this point, no. But by the end of the year, maybe....

  • Scarlet Spiders ended this week. It was a Spider-verse tie-in miniseries. The first two issues came out in '14 but the final issue was in '15. Anyways it was a darn good little story.

  • Having read the third issue, I realize I should remember to at least consider The Kitchen for Best Limited Series next year. It's a solid, ground level crime stories, with some tough outsider protagonists (mob wives whose husbands are in the stir) who are almost certainly in over their heads. Good stuff so far, really nice and tense.

  • We'll see how it progresses but the Dying & the Dead by Hickman may be in the running for best new series.

  • BIGGEST SURPRISE: No spoilers at this point, but the end of Superman #38 should qualify.

  • Agreed, Jeff! And for anyone who wants a spoiler, there's one on this thread!

(Link posted largely so I can remember what the heck we were talking about next January.)
