OK, so having read #0, I see several plot threads:

1)Jennifer is in court, defending the Jester.  I wonder what the legal complications would be of a lawyer acting as an amateur law enforcer.

2)Rhodey is keeping the peace in Latveria. I don't know why they don't just hand control of Latveria over to Victor in perpetuity. He always ends up in charge there eventually, anyhow.

3)Later, the President offers Rhodey SecDef, as a stepping stone to the Presidency, since if a super-hero is going to be President someday, he doesn't want it to be Tony.  Surely Stark has so many skeletons in the closet that if he ran for anything, they'd need to summon the Ghost of Ray Harryhausen to animate them when they all came dancing out?

4)At Ohio State University, a girl and a boy who had just worked up the nerve to ask her out are Terrigen-cocooned.  Do they really just let the Terrigen float around, mutating whom it will?  Surely, one of the MU's many science geniuses could knock up a giant fan to blow it away from populated areas?

5)Leonard Samson visits Carol Danvers, to make sure she hasn't gone nuts.  She is concerned about the menace that they will not be able to stop.

6)Maria Hill informs Jennifer that the Jester - who was convicted- has been killed in prison. Jennifer is outraged, but Maria is all like "He would have recidivated anyway, they always do."  Was Maria always an @$$hole, or did she become one at some point?

7)Back at OSU the kids hatch out of their cocoons. (They just leave these cocoons lying around? they don't collect them and take them somewhere, or at least cordon them off?)  The boy looks normal-ish, but the girl looks demonic and flies away, yowling.  There is some kind of an episode - it's unclear what - and the boy (and the reader) is left wondering what the Hell happened.  He is alone in a devastated city - presumably Columbus, since that's where OSU is in the "real" world.

I'll tell you my main concern - years ago, I was just starting to really get into the Avengers book, and the first Civil War came along and blew it all up, souring me on Marvel for years. I sure hope that's not about to happen all over again.

My first reaction when I heard about Civil War II was, "What again? That's too many times to the well."  Especially since the first one had so many flaws in it. But I set that aside, and waited to see or hear about the story before passing judgment. To be fair, y'know?

But I have to say that everything I've read on this thread has been disappointing. Surely there are some bright spots I'm missing?

Don't worry about Kamala and Miles, though, Baron -- they're going to quit the Avengers (because the adults are such a-holes) and start their own team, the Champions. Nova joins them, as does Awesome Hulk, Viv Vision and young Cyclops.

Hey! Maybe it IS the Teen Titans!

I'd heard about the new Champions book. I may give it a shot, since I'll probably be dropping the All-New, All-Different Avengers book when the kid characters leave.

Ha! That's funny, because I can't wait until the kid characters leave that book and start their own. I expect to enjoy the All-New All-Different Avengers book much more, and I also expect to love the Champions book, but possibly only because of the Humberto Ramos art.

Time to talk about issue #6.  As always, here's a picture for spoiler space. this time out, it's the spectacularly unfunny Sid Melton...

OK, so the heroes stop fighting, but still argue over what to do about Miles.  Steve talks to Miles and comes out in favor of letting him go.  Thor (Jane) takes off with Miles. Maria tries to arrest everyone.  T'Challa turns against Carol.  Tony uses the distraction to leave with his pals. Medusa refuses to help Carol chase them  Jane drop Miles off and he has a good cry.  Back at New Attilan, something is going on with Ulysses.  The Guardians are crashing with Carol until they can get a new ship.  Peter Quill tells Carol he thinks she's right.  He and Groot give her a hug.  Elsewhere, at an old SHIELD barbershop hide-out, Tony and company are determined to find Miles before Carol does. Kamala, young Scott, Kate Bishop, Sam Alexander and Riri take off to help Miles on their own.  Meanwhile, Carol and company have learned where Miles is, because he's standing on the steps of the Capitol...

OK, this story has now reached a point roughly analogous to the point in many an episode of Mystery Science Theater 3000 where Joel/Mike and the Bots start yelling, "End, movie, END!"

End, pointless damned crossover story-line, END!

(Will I keep reading this? Well, yes, because that's the kind of ****hole that I am.)

Out of curiosity what will Carol do with Miles when she catches him?  She has no idea when the vision will come to pass, will she just lock him up indefinitely?

Yeah. This has turned out to be one of the dullest events ever. Not only was it not entertaining, they couldn't even get people mad enough to complain about how terrible and offensive it was. People just don't care about it.

The fact that these issues come out so slowly isn't helping. The rest of the MU is already starting to move into their post CW II storylines,

It continues to amaze how poorly-planned these "events" are.  It seems as though they produce these things "on the fly".

She doesn't really seem to have thought that through,

Which puts her in the same company as the writers and editors!

Still as long as it sells do they have to worry about how well or poorly the event is written?

Do they still have as many buyers that fall for these "events?" When will they go to the well once too often?

Does anyone 'in the know' um...know....if this Civil War II has been a money maker for Marvel?

Most people on this forum seem pretty unimpressed with the actual product and the concept by definition is derivative.

Has this actually been a financial success despite us critics or is the flop it deserves (opinion) to be?
