Let's make this a line for discussion of nespaper comic strip ( Web/whatever ones , too . ) , old , new.........hey .

I have moved from San Francisco to Berkeley and so my " local paper " has switched to the Oakland Tribune , which runs slightly different strips...and still runs all of them in B&W , not color !!!!!!!!!

Like the SF Chronicle , the Peanuts re-runs it runs under the Classic Peanuts banner are late-90s ones , not the four-panel grid , Sixties , ones which it appears the majority of newspapers run.........

We can discuss continuity strips here , certainly , but realistically speaking , there are so few now , it's like discussing Minsky's-style burlesque...Or American commercial network rado drammy...or hotel-less Howard Johnson resturaunts ( I just found out about that recently . )...

...And , I just found out...Comics.Com is going under:-( ???????????
...I had to put the above up rather speedily , so perhaps it suffers...As I said , the Oakland Tribune does run all of its strips in B&W , unlike the SF Chronicle , which even ran the " true B&W " Candorville with color added ! A rare example of a " modern " strip being in " true " B&W...Comics.Com , too , apparently runs all true B&W strips in B&W , and GoComics , at least at times , does not , running Gasoline Alley with rather hastily/tackily applied color rather spoiling its lovely linework...
