Find the New DC 52 Lady

According to Doc Beechler in my personal review of the new 52 from DC that I am reading, the mysterious hooded lady that appeared in the conclusion of Flashpoint is supposed to be visible within each of the 52 first issues out this month (September 2011).

So I thought we could compare notes and play the DC version of "Where's Waldo?" She is only a background character within one panel of each issue, hence the comparison to the famed "Hide and Seeker".

  • Out of the 12 new titles that I have read thus far, I have only been able to find our mystery lady in the following:

Justice League: Page 18, panel 4

    Detective: Page 14, panel 6

Batman and Robin: Page 17, panel 4

    Action: Page 26, panel 3

    Batwoman: Page 17, panel 1

I still have some books to read in what I laughingly call my "spare" time, and DC will be releasing the final 13 first issues of the new 52 September 28.

Otherwise, how well is everyone else doing with this?

  • I found her in Justice League and Action Comics. There seems to be another I saw her in, from this week's releases I think, but I can't remember which.
  • Although this is one of the new 52 that I have no personal interests in reading, thanks to the preview posted on the Comic Book Resources website, the lady can be spotted in Blackhawks, page 3 (or at least the third page of the preview), panel 5.
  • More sightings while reading what I bought:

Captain Atom: Page 18, panel 1

DC Universe Presents: Page 2, panel 5

  • I am completely annoyed by that lady's very existence. Sorry to be a party pooper, but yuck. No good can come of her.
  • Yeah...I agree, Jeff.
  • Everyone:

I do agree that she is probably a foreshadow(er) of whatever DC has planned for their next "big event".

But in the meantime, I just thought it would be neat to compare notes and see if she really is in all 52 books, especially in light of the fact that I'm only buying/reading about 30 of DC's new titles, pending handling and initial story lines on a few of them.

  • This is why I'm reluctant to buy any in-continuity DCU books and why I don't find these books all that "accessible" or welcoming for new readers. They don't really know what that means. Are there fans looking forward to finding the woman from Flashpoint in the new #1s and hoping she kicks off a new universe-wide event soon?

  • Oh, of course. I didn't think you were saying this was an awesome idea for DC, I was just chiming in with my opinion. No judgments!

  • @Mr. SA, etc:

DC is not making a big deal out of the hooded lady yet. We are.

As I mentioned in my opening of this thread, looking for her is akin to finding Waldo.

She is (allegedly) just in the background of one panel per issue, provided you spot her to begin with.

I have been unable to find her in everything I have read thus far, which is why I started this thread, so we could compare notes as to where, let alone if, she really is in all 52 first issues.

Overall, accessibility to each title has been hit or miss on its own for the readers. Our mystery lady has not factored into it.
