BARRY’S BIG BAD IS BREAKING NEWS!

CHRIS KLEIN ANNOUNCED AS DC SUPER-VILLAIN CICADA FOR THE FLASH SEASON FIVE

BURBANK, Calif. (July 21, 2018) — After outthinking The Thinker, you’d hope that Barry Allen aka The Flash (Grant Gustin) might have some down time to contemplate his future with his new wife, Iris (Candice Patton). But with their speedster daughter from the future, Nora (new series regular Jessica Parker Kennedy), already grown and a part of their lives, they’ve now got to face Central City’s newest menace — the DC Super-Villain Cicada! Season five pits Team Flash against yet another formidable adversary, the show’s second non-speedster Big Bad, it was revealed by cast and producers at the show’s 2018 Comic-Con panel on Saturday, July 21.

Chris Klein (Election, Oz, American Pie) has signed on as series regular to play next season’s scourge of Central City, Cicada. A grizzled, blue-collar everyman whose family has been torn apart by metahumans, Cicada now seeks to exterminate the epidemic — one metahuman at a time.

The Flash returns for season five on Tuesday, October 9, at 8/7c on The CW. Based on the DC characters, the series is executive produced by Greg Berlanti, Todd Helbing, Sarah Schechter and Eric Wallace. The Flash is produced by Bonanza Productions in association with Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television.

Tracy actually cheered.

Flash returns this Tuesday, April 16.

Thanks for these reminders, Richard. We're set up to record first run episodes, but we always double-check.

I started doing this after some Legionaires were saying they were missing episodes because they didn't know a show had returned. Glad it's helping.

Let me add my thanks as well, Richard. I try to keep a calendar of when various shows I'm interested in are scheduled to air, and sometimes I miss a launch date or something. For some reason, the date a show is going to premiere or return from hiatus has become classified information that networks and streamers are reluctant to announce until the last minute. It's irritating, and complicates my calendar-making. Your reminders are really handy!

Yes, thanks as well! My Tivo tends to record things automatically, but I always like to double check.

Ditto!

...and yet...! My Tivo didn't record Flash last night. I have a feeling the show didn't air in the NYC market, and was delayed for some reason. It'll air Saturday, apparently.

It was a Nora episode, detailing her backstory with Eobard Thawne. Pretty good!

It also was directed by Danielle Panabaker.

Nice! So I imagine Caitlyn isn't in this one too much. But I'm sure she's got a huge part in the following episode, where her dad and mom return! I'm really stoked to see Kyle Secor as the Icicle again!

A crossover between Flash and Game of Thrones... was not expecting that!

(For those of you who did not see either one, last night's episode of The Flash explains how a paper coffee cup ended up in Westros.)
