  • I do believe I made a similar joke upon hearing about those fires.
  • ha!, This could turn into a "bad thoughts" thread... because I am sure you are not alone.
  • You're not bad, Bob. Some of us are just wired that way.
  • I thought it was funny. And I'm a man of the cloth. That means it can't be all bad. Right?
  • FWIW, I don't think finding something humorous in tragedy is the sign of a bad person. I think it's just a sign that you're human.

Now, if you were happy that the fires happened so that you could make that joke, that would be another story...
  • Baron, I have thoughts like that pop into my head all the time. Like Alan said, it just makes you human. Besides, that was a pretty good pun. :D
  • I re-titled this thread, because it seemes sort of negative to me.
  • Last night I went down the 7/11 to bet a loaf of bread and some peanut butter cups*, and there's this kid in line in front of me, whinging at length because the clerk wouldn't sell him a pack of cigarettes. "This is ********, I'm going to ****ing boot camp next camp next month and I can't even buy myself a pack of ****ing cigarettes?"

My first thought was, "Good luck in ****ing boot camp, kid, maybe the military can make you into less of a ****ing crybaby."

And understand, I'm not here to pick on smokers - I have my own health-threatening habits (although I've never had anyone complain about "second-hand peanut butter cup"), so I'm not trying to be "Mr. Healthier-Than-Thou" It was more the fact that he was throwing a hissy-fit like a five year-old who didn't get a cookie that bugged me.

*No, I didn't make a peanut butter cup sandwich, although that is an interesting idea....
  • Actually I was more curious as to why you were betting a loaf of bread and some peanut butter cups, and why you had to go to 7-11 to make that wager. Photobucket
  • Should read "buy", but I'm a lousy typist, and I'm having problems with the "edit" function.
