So in the recent DC Rebirth thread, Cap mentioned that The Spectre might not want Dr. Manhattan to restore his years teamed up with Percival Popp, Super Cop. Which prompted me to wonder...

Who's more powerful, Dr. Manhattan or The Spectre?

  • Dr. Manhattan, because he already knows how the fight turns out.

  • Herbie.

  • But the Spectre is the Wrath of God... who I imagine doesn't much care if Manhattan knows...

  • Now there's a sensible answer!

  • Yeah, I'd go with Spectre.

  • I think so, too.  It ultimately comes down to Science vs Religion -- with the given that God exists. (Well, assuming we buy that interpretation of the Spectre -- everything we know could be a lie or a hoax.)

But if what we know about both characters is true, I think the Spectre would somehow trap Dr. Manhattan in some kind of logic loop, in which to take any action would nullify his action before it happens...except would the Spectre be smart enough to engineer that?
Or would Dr. Manhattan confront God prior to him personifying his wrath, and undo that before it happens?

    Head hurts.

  • Is it possible (!?) they could be revealed to be one and the same..?

  • Anything's possible!

...but if so, do they KNOW they're one and the same?

  • Maybe Dr. Manhattan is the Spectre of Earth-4!

  • Give me The Spectre, simply because I think he is a better character visually. I need no rational reason!
