I've been a Brubaker/Phillips fan going back to Sleeper at Image Comics. The Last of the Innocents may be the best Archie story I've ever read. Ironically, today Archie would be glad to publish it, but it was transgressive at the time.
I was a little disappointed in Fadeout, because I guessed the ending pretty early on. But it was still a fun journey.
Like you I've been a long time fan of the Brubaker/Phillips team, and I'm stoked for this.
I wasn't disappointed in The Fadeout at all, but I give a lot of leash to these guys.
