I was watching the Savage/Warrior "retirement" match on disk last night, and it came to the ending where Elizabeth threw Sherri out of the ring, and the thought came to me, "Both of these women are dead now, it's depressing."

It's funny; I think--I know--I've heard more stories about Scott Hall than times I've seen him wrestle (the most memorable match of his I remember was when he and a drunk Kevin Nash "wrestled" some well-endowed strippers on WCW Nitro). He was big news by all acceat some point however. 

I was watching AWA wrestling in the mid-80s when he was "Magnum" Scott Hall and won the tag belts with Curt Hennig. Then he went to the NWA/WCW as "Gator" Scott Hall then the Diamond Studd. 

Of course, he got to the WWF/WWE as Razor Ramon, a Cuban by way of Minnesota.

He was a big deal, had star power and is usually on the lists of the greatest wrestlers who never won a World Championship.

I never saw him until he came to the (then) WWF as Razor Ramon, and then later when he was in WCW under his own name.  I never really thought of him as "world champion" material, but he, like Roddy Piper, was grrat in the "challenger" role.

I didn't know him until Razor Ramon, but that was right when I quit watching wrestling. I learned, and loved, later that he based the character on the movie Scarface. Vince McMahon had never seen the movie, and thought it was a genius gimmick.

When I cam back to wrestling (I don't remember why, boredom?), was right when he and Kevin Nash moved to WCW. I loved him there. For me, personally, there weren't very many better on the mic than Scott Hall, I thought he was great.

It has been very bittersweet seeing all of tributes to him on social media.

I had seen Scott Hall in a couple of wrestling magazines when he and Curt Hennig were AWA World Tag Team Champions. I first saw him in action when he came to Memphis in late summer of 1987. I watched him as Scott "Gator" Hall when he first went to WCW through his time as the Diamond Studd, who was pretty much Razor Ramon without the accent. I didn't really watch WWF/WWE while he was there, but I did see him and Nash return to WCW as the Outsiders. I didn't like how the NWO was booked in WCW, and it was really the NWO that drove me away from watching wrestling regularly, but I never felt it was Hall's fault at all. I hated seeing that he was having so much trouble in his life, and I am sad that he's gone.

Hall's Memphis debut came as Brickhouse Brown was Memphis' top heel...

I always thought that the nWo was a good idea, that got out of control, lost focus and never really had a good payoff thatt I ever saw.

That's exactly how I feel about it, too. It went on way too long.

Just saw the footage of the botched Stone Cold Stunner on Vince McMahon at Wrestlemania 38.  Simultaneously hysterically funny and kind of sad at the same time.

Yes, I hope Vince decides he should never climb in the ring again.

For a long time, he was this unaging robot, and then his years seemed to catch up with him all at once.
