Oh , the irony . Let's continue something that was discussed at the MSA Old Home , namely , remaining print comic fanzines - And , for diversity , pro/semi-pro/" pro-zine " comics publications as well .

CBG remains in business . The Comics Journal has now announced that they will come out annually , with " a 600-page plus " issue .

I am Facebook friends with Jon B. Cooke but I haven't yet checked to see if his Comic Book Artist has managed to continue recently , post-its Old Home...

Toomorrows , which indeed has itself a little nook/corner , with The Jack Kirby Collectore , Alter Ego , and Back Issue .

Now , including the " fan " side too...........

...A pretty marginal thing was an issue of that Life Story magazine , possibly a seperate issue , focusing on the Beach Boys following their reunion tour . The other one , sold at the same CVS , was.........

Geeze, they really REALLY were pushing for all possible publicity, weren't they?

...There's more than that , even - There was a story on Lou Ferrigno , which was not blurbed on the cover .

He noted correctly that he was " the only person to ever play the Hulk " . Did Marvel , perhaps , pull a legal thing of keeping Lou off of the cover , before they gave consent to have their copyrighted Hulk Image used ?????

I suppose Marvel of to-day likes Ferrigno about as much as DC of to-day like Adam West and Burt Ward !...

You know , as far as " the image of bodybuilders " , comparing a bodybuilder to the Hulk , a product of a scientic experiment gone wrong and unhealthy muscles/state of mind developing from it , maybe isn't " the greatest positive image-builder " ( If perhaps , oooh , accurate/knowing their target audience ????????? ) for body-building , huh ????????? " Get Buff Like The Hulk " ! " Work Out Like An Avenger " !

...TV GUIDE put out another Con-oriented one-shot , on stands right now as I stand (& type) ! :-)

...I put this up elsewhere first , but I DID!!!!!!!!! find a new comics mag...A BLEEDING COOL comic-book-sized , about 112 pages , paper magazine , put out by the web site .

After I read the " Gutters " gossip column I remembered that I think I've actually read the Web site little , if at all , beyond maybe other people's links to it !!!!!!!!!!!

That aspect of it aside...:-)...it was an okay modern comics-oriented mag , I'd buy the 2nd issue anyway...And , um , after I'd read it for a while I noticed that the article spinning off of the " DREDD " movie referred to it as a yet-to-be released movie...and then I saw that the cover date was December 2012 , IIRC...And I saw a " Next Issue " ad for an all ages-comics -spotlighting Issue #2...which was supposed to be out in December !!!!!!! Spo , um , I got a little embarassed...

...I DID!!!!!!!!!!! indeed find the new BLEEDING COOL #2 comics magazine at my LCS (still) to-day , w/an all-ages-spotlighting cover as promo'd...It just arrived this week , per the lady at the LCS...

...That LIFE STOmagazine put out another comics-oriented issue , a Man Of Steel-latching on with , mostly , a look at Superman's development through the years , concentrating on the media version...Plus , some other cvharacters/shows covered .

     Decent !!!!!!!

...That LIFE STORY Big Blue really was quite good , given rundown pieces on pretty much every major live-action Superman manifestation and the " modern times " (I.E., Cartoon Network/Clinton era-on) cartoon series (The Filmation 60s series gets overlooked , IIRC , as does SUPER FRIENDS , etc.)...........Quite a lot of info for me regarding more modern stuff !!!!!!!!!!!

Peter Sanderson , IIRC , does a good lengthy article regarding the actual source-of-it-all , the funny books' development...

I no longer have it now .
