I finally managed , belatedly , to get the new SUPERMAN series' #1 (at a newsstand account where it costs a dollar more ~ as with all DCU titles ~ $3.99) - and saw , in the incidia , that it is published bi-mothly !!!!!!!!!
But the publicity - and th DC house ad - claims it's twice-monthly .
Which ???

I haven't seen this, but if it's published twice a month the more accurate term would be semi-monthly.
Apparently there is a second meaning to bi-monthly that means the same as semi-monthly. This is stupid and inaccurate.
Bi-monthly means both twice a month and every other month. Weird but true.
You DO know that TPTB have decided that "literally" can now mean its exact opposite, right?
I'm guessing I shouldn't even bring up the whole flammable/inflammable thing.

Don't get me started on this. I find it completely infuriating.

BTW , a semi-monthly comic ~ Or , I guess , " bi-monthly " in this new sense (Well , we are always told " English is a living language " , but...:-0) ~ would come out with 24 issues a year .
A bi-weekly would have 26 ishes .
I discovered this "bi-monthly" confusion when I was told at my vet's office that a wormer medication should be used "bi-annually." Fortunately I already knew it was supposed to be every six months, so I got into a discussion about it, and later discovered the crazy definition of bi-annually and bi-monthly.
The goal of communication should clarity, not confusion.
The second meaning of literally is the exact opposite of the first meaning.
Comics always used to know what bi-monthly meant.
The easier it becomes to do research the less people do it. A youtube video tells me the original artist on the Vision was Steve Buscemi. And I'm shocked at how many people are convinced there was a story telling how the Original Vision created the android Vision.
I don't think I've seen any actual DC material calling those books bi-monthly, though. Every ad I've seen has said "Twice monthly, beginning in June" (or whenever).
Yep, that's what I was thinking.
