Just saw this with The Lad today, and it's as fun as the trailers suggested it would be. I'll need to buy this one, because I know that I missed way too many jokes.
One thing that I especially liked is that the film absolutely owns Batman history. All of it. Within the first few minutes, it's already referenced both the Heath Ledger Joker and the Jack Nicholson Joker ... and they're the same Joker. And the Batusi.
In fact, this movie goes way out of its way to embrace Batman '66. Egghead -- who I literally just watched in all his Vincent Pricey glory last night -- shows up ... alongside King Tut. Commissioner Gordon has a right hand man named O'Hara. Except she's a right hand woman, so maybe she's Chief O'Hara's daughter? Maybe I should ask Zan and Jayna. Or Wonder Dog. Who cares? The references to every version of Batman*** are thick on the ground.
I'm not sure that I liked this more than The LEGO Movie. But I liked it a lot.
*** Well, maybe not Constipated Future Batman and "I'm the G** D*** Batman" Batman.
