Angus Scrimm (August 19, 1926 - January 9, 2016) passed away yesterday at the age of 89.

Originally a journalist who won a Grammy for the liner notes for one of the many LPs and CDs he wrote for, he's best remembered as The Tall Man in the Phantasm movies. He also appeared on the show Alias.

I saw him on stage in a Ray Bradbury play before Bradbury passed away. I think he was part of the group that acted in several Bradbury productions.

I recently read that JJ Abrams is financing a 4k restoration of Phantasm.
