This thread will be used to suggest a new themed avatar event for each month.

For April 2011: Use the generic board avatar and modify it.

For May 2011: Your most eagerly anticipated summer movie! (suggested by Jason Marconnet)

For June 2011: Your favorite obscure character. (Suggested by Philip Portelli)

For July 2011: The character you would least likely use as an avatar. (Suggested by Philip Portelli)

For August 2011: Fire and/or summer things. (suggested by Jason Marconnet)

For September 2011: An anthropomorphic animal. (suggested by Lumbering Jack)

For October 2011: Halloween, of course! (suggested by Jason Marconnet)

For November 2011: An image from your hometown (suggested by Lumbering Jack)

Got a suggestion for the next month? Leave a comment and pick the best based on timeliness/orignality.

For December 2011: Christmas Specials! (suggested by Lumbering Jack)

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Here's my first proposal:

Take the "generic board avatar," and modify it a bit to make it look like your favorite character or just give it a goofy look.

Here's the original ...

And here's a sample of what you can do with just a smidge of photoshop work ... But here's what I'm using as my avatar ...

My only request ... keep it somewhat recognizable as the original version. The rest is up to you!

  • Good idea, I don't have photoshop so I just used microsoft paint. 1936044517?profile=original
  • 1936044497?profile=originalMine looks better at this size than in the tiny little icon box.

I would have skipped this "event" if it weren't for Jason posting about using Microsoft's Paint. Aside from adding glasses, the background change was a "one click" thing. It turns out the background is 2 different shades, and I couldn't even tell until I tried to change it!
