BOOM! Studios today revealed a first look at ALICE EVER AFTER #1, the premiere issue of the new five-issue original series, a darkly surreal tale of an adult Alice as she struggles with a choice between facing her trauma in the real world, or escaping to Wonderland … for good.

Alice first visited Wonderland as a child. Now grown up, it’s become her only escape from a cold, harsh world that feels even less real — a distant family, a tormented lover and a father with secrets he’ll do anything to protect. But in order to return to her fantasy, Alice will need something much stronger than mushrooms ...

Cursed with a growing addiction, Alice is forced into the twisted underbelly of London and pulled ever further from reality. Is her obsession with Wonderland truly a respite, or a one-way ticket to the dreaded … ASYLUM?

Witness Wonderland brought to life as never before, set against a vibrant but menacing Victorian London, as figures from Alice’s past adventures re-emerge in surprising new ways!

  • First issue!
  • This has become sort of genre, hasn't it? "IN A WORLD where children in literature grow up into a dystopic future ... [/Movie Guy Voice]" Alternatively, we have dytopic takes on fairy tales, usually by looking at what happens after "happily ever after" (Snow, Glass, Apple; Once Upon a Time, Fables).
  • I rather enjoy them, although the endless (and often redundant) takes on Peter Pan need to stop. Yes, we get it, boys who never grow up become monsters. So what I'd rather see are sequels to other stories, like A Turn of the Screw and Crime and Punishment. Don't you want to know if the governess was crazy or not, and the fate of Raskolnikov? I do!
  • Is this genre due to League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, do you think? I'm trying to think of some examples of adopting literary/fairy tale characters (or re-writing them) for new stories before Alan Moore made a cottage industry of it, but can't think of any off-hand. There are probably a lot of them that I just didn't characterize that way when reading them.

10249787081?profile=RESIZE_710xStory: Gardner Fox, Ed Wheelan | Art: Henry C. Kiefer, Graham Ingles, Ed Wheelan, Sheldon Moldoff | Art/Cover: Johnny Craig | $4.99

At last collecting the wild adventures of the lone lawman known as the Gunfighter and his comrade the Buckskin Kid as they take on multiple mean outlaws and ride a rough terrain of terror in this collection of thrilling pre-trend EC tales of western lore.

This hardcover volume collects Gunfighter #5-9, recolored digitally using the original palette, featuring art by legendary comics talents Johnny Craig, Graham Ingels, and more!

  • I'm delighted to see these pre-Trend titles get the archival treatment, and am looking forward to seeing a complete set of Blackstone (especially if the Fawcett issues are included), Gunfighter, Saddle Justice, Saddle Romances and the various iterations of Moon Girl, War on Crime and Crime Patrol on my bookshelf. I have a vague interest in the "Picture Stories" line, and would probably pick up HC collections of those if published. But I have no interest at all in the rest of the "Educational Comics" line, consisting of Animal Fables, Dandy, Fat and Slat, Happy Houlihans and Tiny Tots Comics

ANNOTATED SANDMAN VOL 1 HC 2022 EDITION

  • I got the first two books of the last iteration of Annotated Sandman, and was greatly disappointed. I learned virtually nothing, as the few "annotations" were mostly common knowledge and/or dictionary definitions. They better have overhauled this completely with some in-depth research, or it's a waste of space on anyone's bookshelf.

BATMAN BEYOND NEO-YEAR #1 (OF 6)

10250038473?profile=RESIZE_710xStory: Collin Kelly, Jackson Lanzing | Art/Cover: Max Dunbar, Christian Ward | $3.99

Neo-Gotham is alive and has killed Bruce Wayne. It’s rejected Terry McGinnis as Batman and offered him the chance to escape. Terry turned it down — he is the city’s protector, and he will uphold the legacy of Batman. Now Neo-Gotham will do everything in its power to destroy Terry, including creating brand-new villains to fight him. Terry’s first year without Bruce Wayne begins … does he have a fighting chance? From the rising-star creative team of Collin Kelly and Jackson Lanzing (Kang the Conqueror) and Max Dunbar (Batman: Urban Legends, Robin), a new future for Batman Beyond has begun!

  • I've expressed my disinterest in Batman Beyond before, and my reasons are these:
  • 1) I thought Terry McGinniss was too random a choice for Batman. That has since been addressed, but I spent way too long resenting McGinnis' presence before the paternity test came back.
  • 2) I thought the Batman Beyond suit made McGinniss more Spider-Man than Batman. I like Spider-Man, but when I'm reading something with "Batman" in the title, I expect Batman.
  • 3) I was unhappy at how sad the stories of most of the Bat-people played out. Given the fates of Bruce, Dick, Babs, et al., how could McGinnis fail to notice that the Bat-retirement plan was death, misery or insanity? Batman Beyond also underscored my complaint about modern Batman comics, in that the Dark Knight seems to maintain a fearsome reputation without actually ever winning. Issue after issue the bad guy gets away, or it's a stalemate, or The Joker kills another bajillion people and gets a slap on the wrist. And Gotham never gets better, and Arkham never works. That's bad enough, but Batman Beyond future demonstrates that not only did Batman lose almost every battle, he lost the war. He's a bitter, old recluse and Gotham is as bad as ever. This not only made me despondent watching Batman Beyond, it also bled backward to current Bat-comics. I know comics need drama, but also sometimes the good guys need to notch a clean win. Batman Beyond was a sad coda to Batman's saga to me, an indication that his career was an exercise in futility.
  • I welcome arguments on these points, or an entirely different perspective. I'd rather enjoy Batman Beyond than not, since it doesn't seem to be going away.

The creative minds behind The CW’s hottest DC superhero shows are bringing their talents and the characters they’ve made so popular to comic books in a can’t-miss comic book event!

EARTH-PRIME is a three-month, six-issue event set entirely in the universe of DC’s popular superhero TV shows. All issues are part of the Warner Bros. Television show canon, approved by CW television show producers. Each of the first five issues spotlights a different CW/DC superhero show, with the sixth issue serving as a crossover finale.

Ryan Wilder, aka Batwoman, makes her costumed comic book debut in a story co-written by series writers Natalie Abrams and Kelley Larson, plus series cast member Camrus Johnson (Luke Fox/Batwing), with art by Clayton Henry.

Ever since the tech that created many of Batman’s rogues hit the streets, Ryan Wilder has been running herself ragged trying to contain the new villains popping up around Gotham City. But when Clayface’s (making his CW debut) mud binds itself to a local high schooler, Batwoman will need help from an unexpected source to contain this muddy foe!

Also, follow how Luke Fox balances his life as a superhero and a boyfriend!

Plus, the true origins of the evil Superman from John Henry Irons’ world are finally revealed!

Both issues feature cover art by Kim Jacinto and will feature photo variant covers based on each individual show. Subsequent issues will spotlight The CW television shows DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, DC’s Stargirl and The Flash, all written or co-written by creative talent from the shows. Each issue will also include bonus material created by cast members of The CW shows, as well as “teasers” that will provide clues to the nature of the final crossover in issue #6.

10030215286?profile=RESIZE_710x10030215297?profile=RESIZE_710xStory/Art: Stephen Mooney | Covers: Gabriel Rodriguez, Stephen Mooney | $4.99

This April, IDW invites pulp adventure fans on a trans-Atlantic journey in The Rocketeer: The Great Race! A brand-new four-issue comic book miniseries commemorating 40 years of Dave Stevens’ iconic hero, The Great Race soars to stratospheric storytelling heights courtesy of New York Times bestselling writer/artist Stephen Mooney!

“Writing and drawing a Rocketeer book has long been somewhat of a bucket-list item for me. I grew up on Dave Stevens' unique blend of swashbuckling derring-do and pulpy adventure with Cliff, Betty and Peevy, and those seminal issues still stand today as one of my favorite series of all time,”  says Mooney. “It's incredibly daunting and yet also fantastically thrilling and a real challenge. Let's take to the skies!”

10030215655?profile=RESIZE_710xIn The Great Race, stunt pilot Cliff Secord returns to a West Coast steeped in paranoia over the looming war in Europe. Having finally had enough of his near-death scrapes as the high-flying Rocketeer, the only thing in Cliff's crosshairs is a prestigious, winner-take-all air race that runs from California to France! Maybe it's finally time to smarten up and fly straight … by taking his best girl Betty to Paris! But other parties want to win the race for their own nefarious ends, and Cliff will need to decide which prize is truly the most valuable of all.

As an additional bonus, each issue of The Rocketeer: The Great Race will contain an oral history featuring Dave Stevens’s friends, family and fellow artists, all culled together by Kelvin Mao, the director of the forthcoming documentary on the beloved artist!

“Stephen Mooney has a love and affinity for The Rocketeer, and the time period the iconic character inhabits … all of which is abundantly evident in the story he has crafted,” says editor Scott Dunbier. “It’s a fun-filled romp, one I think Dave Stevens would enjoy!”

April 2022 marks the 40th anniversary of The Rocketeer’s debut as a backup feature in 1982’s Starslayer #2. In addition to The Great Race, IDW will celebrate “Rocketeer Month” with an encore release of Dave Stevens’ The Rocketeer Artist’s Edition, a new printing of the inaugural release in IDW’s multiple award-winning Artist’s Edition line. Long out of print, this completely redesigned reissue of the long-out-of-print Artist’s Edition reproduces an integral work of comics history, meticulously scanned from the original art.

In 2017, superstar Deadpool co-creator Rob Liefeld teamed up with writers Chris Sims and Chad Bowers to tell an all-new saga starring his greatest creation in Deadpool’s first-ever original graphic novel, DEADPOOL: BAD BLOOD! Now, fans can relive this smash hit in serialized comics format when it returns to comic shops this April. With appearances by his greatest partners and showdowns against his most dangerous enemies, DEADPOOL: BAD BLOOD is a definitive Deadpool epic told in his co-creator’s iconic art style! The new printings will also come complete with brand-new cover artwork by Liefeld that showcase Deadpool in all his glory.

Wade Wilson has been shooting, stabbing and otherwise annoying people for a long time. He’s made a lot of enemies. But one he just can’t quite place is the brutal Thumper, who keeps showing up out of the blue to pound him into jelly. What is Deadpool’s past connection to this beefy face masher? Wade has as much of a clue as you do! So he decides to call in some help from an old friend: Domino! Can he and Domino get to the bottom of things before Deadpool meets his maker again? Answers might lay in a secret mission from years ago that brought Deadpool and X-Force together.

“I don’t know which call was better, the one in 2017 where Marvel told me that DEADPOOL: BAD BLOOD was the #1 graphic novel for the month or the call last month when Marvel told me they wanted to break the 100 pages up into a miniseries for audiences that may have missed the first time around!” Liefeld said. “Deadpool! Cable! X-Force! Kane and the debut of Thumper! This is my favorite work, a personal work, and I’m so thrilled we are releasing it in an all new format! Get your hands on it this April!!!”

DESTINY OF X, The Second Age of Krakoa, is on the horizon! Emerging from the aftermath of INFERNO and X LIVES OF WOLVERINE/X DEATHS OF WOLVERINE comes exciting new X-Men titles such as a Kieron Gillen and Lucas Werneck’s IMMORTAL X-MEN and exciting creative team changes for continuing hit titles such as MARAUDERS!

Launching with a brand-new #1, writer Steve Orlando will take over the mutant seafaring series MARAUDERS alongside rising star artist Eleonora Carlini this March. Together they’ll chart a new course for this thrilling title that has left a unique mark on the mutant mythos with its high seas action and cutthroat storytelling! Before March’s MARAUDERS #1, fans can come aboard for the first adventure of Orlando’s run in next month’s MARAUDERS ANNUAL #1 where he’ll be joined by artist Crees Lee.

Captain Pryde and the Marauders are rededicating themselves to rescuing mutants, wherever they may be, and no matter how dangerous the odds against them are. Joining Kate and Bishop will be Psylocke, Daken, Aurora, Tempo and Somnus, the new mutant hero who debuted earlier this year in MARVEL’S VOICES: PRIDE #1! But Captain Pryde’s crew is not yet complete! Against her better judgment, Pryde comes face-to-face with the final Marauder, someone no fan will see coming but may be the Marauders’ only chance to unravel a mystery stretching two billion years into the past!

A new creative team calls for a new crew and this one is packed with longtime favorites and a shocking final member — CASSANDRA NOVA!

The twisted twin sister of Professor Xavier, Cassandra was introduced during Grant Morrison’s revolutionary early 2000s run on NEW X-MEN where she  orchestrated the deadliest crime in mutantkind history and left the X-Men’s world in chaos. Now the Marauders need her help to untangle a mystery rooted in the earliest days of mutantkind. Do they dare trust her?

“Cassandra Nova Xavier is back, with the same malicious mind and murderous hands as ever!” Orlando said. “But how much has she changed since her last run in with the X-Men? Pryde and the Marauders have no choice but to find out, since Cassandra's only one who can lead them to mutantkind's earliest ancestors — a mystery two billion years old. She's little bit Xavier, a little bit Catherine Trammel, and the Marauders' only hope for success.”

“Taking the helm of MARAUDERS is easily the most exciting moment of my career, especially when it's my first-ever ongoing not just on Krakoa, but at Marvel in general,” Orlando said. “Exploding out of the team's already-amazing adventures as part of Hellfire Trading, Captain Pryde's new crew of Marauders will stop at nothing to bring endangered mutants to safety — to always go where they're needed, not where they're wanted. To mutant rescue, wherever it calls them!”

X-FORCE #27

10010327500?profile=RESIZE_710xStory: Benjamin Percy | Art: Robert Gill | Covers: Joshua Cassara, Dustin Weaver, Pete Woods, Robert Gill | Parental Advisory | $3.99

This April, X-FORCE enters the Destiny of X era with a new jumping on point and a shocking new enemy!

As long as mutantkind thrives on Krakoa, X-Force must protect the island nation from its most dangerous outside threats. In order to do so, this group of mutantkind’s most lethal have to be willing to get their hands dirty and risk their lives in the most extreme and dangerous situations. They’ve made their share of mistakes, been killed and resurrected more times than they can count, and now, they’ll face a new foe that will strike at the heart of Krakoa’s dream. Emerging in the aftermath of X LIVES OF WOLVERINE/X DEATHS OF WOLVERINE comes Cerebrax! This all-new arc kicks off in X-FORCE #27 and will see rising star Robert Gill come aboard as the hit series’ new main artist.

As Wolverine returns to Krakoa, the mind-melding threat of Cerebrax grips the island via a security flaw! But where does it come from, and what does it want with Forge? Here’s what Percy had to say about what fans can expect from the new hard-hitting chapter of X-FORCE:

“There has never been an easy time for X-Force, but the year ahead is going to be particularly chaotic and challenging. I can't get into too much detail about X LIVES OF WOLVERINE/X DEATHS OF WOLVERINE — because Beast has listed those files as classified — but I will say that there are repercussions. For some of the characters of course. But also for one of the Cerebro units, which has become sentient, and it's hunger for intelligence and power is quite literal. Cerebrax is coming. You should also expect some dramatic shake-ups to the team roster and a major transformation for Kid Omega that we've been building toward for some time. Take cover, because one of my favorite villains in the 616 is showing up in a multi-issue story I've been wanting to write for years. And expect for the Man With the Peacock Tattoo to finally be unmasked. Robert Gill's art is blowing my mind and melting my email inbox; I can't wait to share it with you all. Get ready for menace, mayhem, and moral confusion.”

9991748093?profile=RESIZE_710xStory: Al Ewing | Art: Stefano Caselli | Cover: Russell Dauterman, Taurin Clarke, David Lopez, Peach Momoko | Teen+ | $4.99

This April, Storm, Magneto, Sunspot and more strive to maintain peace on mutantkind’s new world in Al Ewing and Stefano Caselli’s X-MEN RED.

Last year, mutantkind took a bold leap into the future when they terraformed Mars in the game-changing one-shot, PLANET-SIZE X-MEN. Now home to the mutants of Arakko, the Red Planet has never shined brighter or been more dangerous. ... Mastermind writer Al Ewing, known for his acclaimed work on IMMORTAL HULK, will pen an all-new X-Men book this April that will deal with both the promise and the threat that Arakko represents to the Marvel Universe. Joining Ewing will be artist Stefano Caselli, whose dynamic and dramatic storytelling skills have already graced X-Men books like INFERNO and S.W.O.R.D. And providing the book’s main covers will be superstar Russell Dauterman, who also designed Storm’s stellar new costume.

X-MEN RED will see mutantkind divided over what’s next for Arakko. Major players like Storm, Magneto, Sunspot, Abigail Brand, the mutants of the Great Ring, and many more all have different hopes — and fears — regarding Arakko’s uncertain future. A place of mystery, strength, and endless conflict, Arakko needs something more than just a team of heroes to defend it. Who will rise to the challenge?

X-MEN RED #2 asks the question: WHO CAN TAME THE RED PLANET?

The mutants of Mars spent millennia worshiping war — and on what they now call Arakko, they’re keeping up their violent ways. Abigail Brand knows the red planet needs a firm ruler in charge. But Storm has other ideas, along with a broken Magneto in her corner and Sunspot making his own moves. It’s a new world … and someone has to claim it.

"Mutantkind terraformed Mars, bringing a dead world back to life and changing the Marvel Universe forever,” Ewing said. “Mars is now Planet Arakko, home to an ancient mutant society that spent thousands of years facing war, imprisonment and pain — and home to Storm, who won a place of power on their ruling council. Now Arakko has a chance to find peace at last and forge their own path to the future... but there are those who'd rather see them fenced in and subjugated. Does Mars really need X-Men to save it — or can the mutants of Arakko fight for themselves? Storm's not the only one who's asking ... and the answers are in X-MEN RED."

"After being part of Hickman's work on the X-Men titles, I couldn't imagine getting a greater opportunity. I was wrong! In my dream checklist, there was teaming up with Al Ewing, who is to me one of the most creative and funny writers out there. And now I can work with him on X-MEN RED!” Caselli said. “I'm really putting all of myself in this title since I'm sure me and Al can leave a remarkable series in the X-Men universe. Working on Al's script is a pure joy, I'm like a kid on a rollercoaster: emotions, adrenaline and a sense of wonder is what I feel everyday sitting on my drawing desk. I'm just sorry I can't talk more about it but I'm more than sure readers will be happy and hooked from the starting point! Let me just say this: keep an eye on Storm ... oh guys ... Storm ...."

Mutants have found a new homeland. Now they must fight for it.

Asexuality is often called the "invisible orientation." You don't learn about it in school, and you don't hear "ace" on television. So it's kinda hard to be ace in a society so steeped in sex that no one knows you exist. Too many young people grow up believing that their lack of sexual desire means they are broken, so writer Molly Muldoon and cartoonist Will Hernandez — both in the ace community — are here to shed light on society's misconceptions of asexuality and what being ace is really like. This book is for anyone who wants to learn about asexuality, and for ace people themselves to validate their experiences.

A graphic memoir about Tyler, a child who is diagnosed with ADHD and has to discover for himself how to best manage it.

Tyler's brain is different. Unlike his friends, he has a hard time paying attention in class. He acts out in goofy, over-the-top ways. Sometimes, he even does dangerous things-like cut up a bus seat with a pocketknife or hang out of an attic window.

To the adults in his life, Tyler seems like a troublemaker. But he knows that he's not. Tyler is curious and creative. He's the best artist in his grade, and when he can focus, he gets great grades. He doesn't want to cause trouble, but sometimes he just feels like he can't control himself.

In Button Pusher, cartoonist Tyler Page delves into his childhood experiences and explores what it means to grow up with ADHD. From diagnosis to treatment and beyond, Tyler's story is raw and enlightening, inviting you to see the world from a new perspective.

This graphic novel adventure tells the story of 10-year-old Elvie and her crucial mission to save humanity from extinction after a sun shift has changed life on earth as we know it.

It's been 50 years since a sun shift wiped out nearly all mammal life across the earth.

Towns and cities are abandoned relics, autonomous machines maintain roadways, and the world is slowly being reclaimed by nature. Isolated pockets of survivors keep to themselves in underground sites, hiding from the lethal sunlight by day and coming above ground at night.

10-year-old Elvie and her caretaker, Flora, a biologist, are the only two humans who can survive during daylight because Flora made an incredible discovery — a way to make an antidote to sun sickness using the scales from monarch butterfly wings. Unfortunately, it can only be made in small quantities and has a short shelf life.

Free to travel during the day, Elvie and Flora follow monarchs as they migrate across the former Western United States, constantly making new medicine for themselves  while trying to find a way to make a vaccine they can share with everyone. Will they discover a way to go from a treatment to a cure and preserve the remains of humanity, or will their efforts be thwarted by disaster and the very people they are trying to save?

They say that a ghost witch lives in the woods, up on the hill. They say her companion has a pig skull for a face and stands taller than a man, his skeleton gleaming in the moonlight. They say that the witch takes young girls, and no one ever sees them again.

Daniel doesn't believe the stories. He figures the kids on the bus are just trying to scare him since he's new. Still, he wishes his family had never moved here-their house is a wreck, Mom and Dad keep fighting, and his little sister, Erica, spends most of her time talking to her creepy doll.

But when Erica disappears into the woods one day, Daniel knows something is terribly wrong. Has she been "took"?

    • OGN! (I think)

    WEST OF SUNDOWN #1

10178422486?profile=RESIZE_710xStory: Tim Seeley, Aaron Campbell | Art: Jim Terry | Covers: Aaron Campbell, Jim Terry | Colors: Triona Farrell | Letters: Crank! | Disigns: Tim Daniel | Vault | $3.99

A beautiful ancient vampire must flee monster slayers in New York City, and reclaim the ancestral soil that restores her undead flesh. But things have changed since she was reborn in the New Mexico desert, and now Constance Der Abend and her loyal ex-Confederate assistant Dooley must adapt to life in the rough frontier town of Sangre De Moro. A Western tale of survival starring a cast of literary horrors.

Vault is thrilled to announce WEST OF SUNDOWN, a sweeping western horror comic book series.

“WEST OF SUNDOWN is about the great mythologies of the old world slamming into the folklore of the new world ... the legends of Europe, and the birth of the American beast," said Seeley. "And, taking that theme as a skeleton, we've draped it with the sewed together skin of Sergio Leone Westerns and Hammer Horror films. Gritty sunsets meets foggy nights. The gothic graveyard meets Boot Hill. What horrors lie in our shared unconsciousness, and how do we stuff them all into a too-tight corset?”

“WEST OF SUNDOWN will be my first writing credit," added Campbell. "This is an aspiration I’ve had for a long time. For several years now I’ve been meddling in the scripts that come my way, adding what bits of story I can get away with. And over those years my urge to tell my own stories has only intensified. I couldn’t be happier with this debut. It’s given me the opportunity to combine so many of my passions; the history and culture of the Southwest, the classic archetypes of mid-century Western and horror cinema, as well as themes of cosmic horror and weird fiction."

“WEST OF SUNDOWN is a chance to really dig into the texture, tone and mood of two distinct and (to me) beloved genres while at the same time putting them through a less glorified lens," remarked Terry." Personally, I'm relishing the chance to pay homage and work in the shadow of some of the legendary comic artists who've delved into these genres before, and see if it's possible to come up with something entirely unique while doing so.”

    • "A beautiful ancient vampire ..." But aren't they all?

RISE: A POP HISTORY OF ASIAN AMERICA FROM THE NINETIES TO NOW

10253313259?profile=RESIZE_710xStory: Jeff Yang, Phil Yu, Philip Wang | Art: Julia Kuo | Etch/Clarion Books | $28.99

Rise is a love letter to and for Asian Americans — a vivid scrapbook of voices, emotions, and memories from an era in which our culture was forged and transformed, and a way to preserve both the headlines and the intimate conversations that have shaped our community into who we are today. When the Hart-Celler Act passed in 1965, opening up immigration to non-Europeans, it ushered in a whole new era. Jeff Yang, Phil Yu and Philip Wang chronicle how we've arrived at today's unprecedented diversity of Asian American cultural representation through engaging, interactive infographics, plus illustrations and graphic essays from major AAPI artists.

    • Apropos of nothing, AP dropped the hyphens in 2019 for its official style on dual-heritage terms like Asian American and African American, and I'm still getting used to it. My hands desperately want to jump in and add hyphens.

The only series I always remember (barely) that predates LoEG was Fate's Five that came out in the mid-90s. It has Frankenstein's monster, Captain Nemo (he sure is popular!), Merlin and a couple of others. I only read the first issue, and it ran for four. I assume it was a mini-series, or maybe the publisher, Innervision, folded then. Like you, I figure there are more that cam before.

Batman Beyond - This is one of those series I want to like, but to me it was always average at best. Yet, DC gives him a series every couple of years

Without Dave Stevens, is there any reason to continue Rocketeer? - I rather enjoyed this first anthology series they did. The second much less so. I read one of the first minis, and it was okay. I haven't felt the need to keep up with him since.

  • Glad to see I'm not the only one who finds Batman Beyond less than enthralling. From the frequency of his revivals, I thought I was an outlier.

As to literary lifts, I suppose Dick Briefer's Frankenstein might qualify, although it seemed to have little attachment to the original story. And Price and Prejudice and Zombies came to mind, but that might be a post-League production. Oh, here's one: Marvel's "War of the Worlds," which was set in the second Martian invasion, and as much as I can recall, treated the first invasion (the novel) as canon.

There's Tarzan and all the ERB spin-offs, and Conan material, but those are authorized adaptations/continuations, like comics that use radio characters (Green Hornet, Shadow, Captain Midnight, et al). Those seem like they belong in a different category. Maybe I'd include them if someone teamed them all up, like LoEG or what Dynamite is doing in Die!Namite, which tosses Red Sonja, Vampirella, Tarzan, John Carter & Dejah Thoris, Ash Williams, Sheena and other otherwise unrelated characters into a zombie apocalypse.
