I have never tried to use an iPad on this site -- or any other. I just use it to read, and when I need to do work I go to my desktop. Yeah, yeah, I'm old-fashioned. But if anybody knows, I could use the info, too!
Checked Safari again. Still no buttons showing up. I recommend downloading Dolphin browser and see if that works for you.
I didn't know you COULD use a different browser in iPad!
Apparently the Chrome browser is also available for the iPad.
If it works as well on the iPad as it does on my Microsoft PC and Android phone it would be a good choice. I've never had a problem with any postings on this site using Chrome.
I've been using computers at home and at work since the late '90s. I've built websites using everything from PageMill to Dreamweaver. I can use XHTML. I'm no rookie. But I've never had a Mac and I find iPads a little mysterious. I don't push the edges very much.
When you post images, you can control the size they appear at by adjusting the Width pixels number before you post. You can still do it after uploading by switching to HTML mode and changing the img width= number.
Doing either doesn't change the image's "real" size, just the size it appears at in your post. For example, this image would have posted at Width 400 pixels, but I changed the figure to Width 300 pixels:
If you click on the image you'll see it at the larger size.
Great tip, Luke. Thanks!
It's also possible to adjust the size of the image by clicking on it and then dragging the corners. You can drag the sides, top and bottom as well but it will stretch the image horizontally or vertically.
I just started uploading the image of a cover and then clicking the HTML button. Then all you have to do is change the default "400" to a different width. 600 works well with the display area. Then just click the Add Reply button and you're done.
