The 2022 calendar/CD is now available from Blues Images.

"Alice Cooper Goes To Hell", a continuation of his "Welcome To My Nightmare" concept album.

Great stuff!

I am re-listening to Robert Wilonsky's Christmas spectacular.  For me a staple in the DFW area. This is the 13h year he has done it, and he claims yo never play a song twice over the years. While he might play "Silent Night" he hasn't played the same version by the same band. All I know is, is  he keeps fresh and I Iove it.

Let It Be - 2 CD deluxe edition (2021) and Let It Be...Naked. Naked sounds great and offers the best versions of this set of songs while the original album material with the false starts, conversations and throwaways like Dig It and Maggie Mae better captures the feel of the sessions. You still have the celestial choir and strings on Long and Winding Road as well as I, Me, Mine and Across the Universe but the Giles Martin re-mix does help them and the rest of the tracks to sound better.

I'm not certain which is Del Close and which is John Brent, however.

"I'm not certain which is Del Close and which is John Brent, however."

Scratch that. John Brent is "Geets Romo" and Del Close is the square straight man. The straight man is the same voice as from "The Do It Yourself Psychoanalysis Kit," plus John Brent appears, as himself, on what I'm listening to today (see below). The highlight of "The Do It Yourself Psychoanalysis Kit" is the section which psychoanalysis Hamlet, but I don't find it quite as funny today as I did when I first heard it. I first heard excerpts of "How to Speak Hip" on Rhino Records' The Beat Generation, a three-disc set of music, documentary and poetry/spoken word.

After The Beat Generation comes...

For some reason, I stopped after buying volume one. Luckily my LRS (local record shop) is very well-stocked.

Today, a new client brought his harmonica to the office appointment. He offered to play me a song.

The *from the hills* song he played me was "Chicken Train" by The Ozark Mountain Daredevils.

Chicken train
Runnin' all day
Chicken train
Runnin' all day
Chicken train
Runnin' all day
I can't get on
I can't get off
Chicken train take your chickens away

I can honestly say that in my 24 year career, I have never had a harmonica played in my office. Today was a banner day.

Chain Lightning by Don McLean - from my vinyl collection. One that I haven't listened to in decades. A mix of original material and covers such as Roy Orbison's "Crying". A pretty good album overall - I may not wait as long to give it another listen.

The Theme from Jonny Quest, recommended by one of my FB friends.
