Let's see here. So far today, I've read...

• World War Hulk: Gamma Corps #1-4 (in trade form) — meh
• Jack of Fables #5-7 (the last part of "The (Not So) Great Escape" and the two-part Jack Frost story) — I don't find Jack a particularly likable protagonist yet. Will that change?
• Spider-Man/Red Sonja #1-2 — Considered reading more from this trade, then realized...I just can't bring myself to care about Red Sonja or her world. So I figured...why not spend the time reading something I might enjoy, instead?

I may read more later.

No. Jack is pretty much an arrogant jerk at best. I don't expect to like him, but I still enjoy seeing him interact with the other characters, and witnessing his endless good luck. Things always seem to work out for the guy in the end.

No. Jack is pretty much an arrogant jerk at best. I don't expect to like him, but I still enjoy seeing him interact with the other characters, and witnessing his endless good luck. Things always seem to work out for the guy in the end.

I wouldn't say it actually works out for him in the end. His stories (to me) are like sitcom episodes. He has some scheme and it works for a while and he is riding high. Then it all falls apart and he is back to were he was at the beginning of the story (for the most part). I will agree he is an arrogant jerk.

What I read (yesterday).
I finished up the Johnny Hiro collection. I liked it for the most part. I found the first story the weakest of the bunch, but it was tied into the later stories. I did have to reign in my own ego while reading it.
I was thinking that isn't what ise ebi looks like, and aji doesn't look like that. It did make me laugh when he had Alton Brown appear on panel, and say the same thing I was thinking about the ise ebi, nice touch.

I read the Kane , collection by Paul Grist. He writes "zany" really well.

Scalped Vol.4 - Which was excellent as usual. Is it me, or did the art look scratchier in this volume?

I'd agree with that. I just meant he somehow gets out of impossible scrapes. But you're right, he winds up back where he started.

I don't remember noticing that. Maybe the issues done by a new guest artist?

Power Man & Iron Fist #84 - Sabretooth (with Constrictor's help) is looking for revenge against Misty Knight because he beat her up. The Marvel universe was a better place when he could get beaten up by Misty Knight.

Secret Six #12 -- Another great issue, but who the heck is the creature at the end?

I read the first issue of the all-ages Iron Man Armor Wars. It's a good book for anyone only familiar with Tony and crew by way of the film. However...Crimson Dynamo and Doctor Doom show up and someone has stolen every one of the Iron Man armors...

The first half of Asterios Polyp, which I enjoyed. I'm not finding it as unique as some have claimed; reminds me a lot of both Blankets and Bottomless Belly Button so far.

I actually read issues 1-3 of "Werewolf at Large". Remember at the tail-end of the first Werewolf By Night comic, where they tried to make him into a superhero? This is basically that concept, done right. Enjoyable, if nothing new. I wish it would've lasted.
