X-Force returns in December

X-FORCE Is Back!

Featuring an all-new team and all-new story from Ed Brisson and Dylan Burnett!

New York, NY—September 13, 2018—This December, the X-FORCE reassembles…for revenge! Extermination writer Ed Brisson and Cosmic Ghost Rider artist Dylan Burnett are teaming up with Young Guns artist Pepe Larraz to bring you Domino, Cannonball, Shatterstar, Boom Boom, and Warpath in an all-new ongoing adventure!

“Coming out of EXTERMINATION, Domino, Shatterstar, Cannonball, and Warpath are reeling from the loss of their mentor and have unanswered questions,” Brisson told Marvel.com in an interview. “They're on the hunt for this new Kid Cable to get those answers—some want his head, some just want to talk to him to find out what the hell is going on. Is this really their Cable? Is this an impostor?”

“X-Force has always been the one X-team that stood out the most for me,” added Burnett. “A lot of my favorite mutants have belonged to it over the years (namely Cable and Psylocke) but being able to bring back the original lineup in a new way is a huge honor. They're just a bunch of badasses. It's dope. I'm stoked.”

Head to Marvel.com for more information, and don’t miss the debut of X-FORCE #1, on sale in comic shops this December!

  • I can name those characters, to my surprise.

Clockwise from top left: Cannonball, Boom Boom, Warpath, Domino, young Cable, Deathlok, Shatterstar.

I do have some questions for the X-perts among us:

    • Aren't Shatterstar and Rictor more or less connected at the hip? I don't see Rictor here.
    • Aren't Cannonball and Sunspot/Citizen V connected at the hip? I don't see Roberto here. I have a vague memory of him having something terminal recently, maybe in the Avengers "No Surrender" storyline, which is the last place I remember him being.
    • Has Boom Boom ever had any connection to X-Force before? I can remember her being in various other groups, but not X-Force. Her last appearance was in New Mutants: Dead Souls, which just ended. Is she connected to any of those other characters? (Sam Guthrie wasn't in that New Mutants miniseries, and I don't remember if his time with the New Mutants overlapped with Boom Boom.)
    • That could be Amara instead of Boom Boom, I guess, but I see why she'd be there, either.
