‘THE HORROR OF GODZILLA’ UNLEASHES JAW-DROPPING TERROR
IDW RELEASES THE SCARIEST GODZILLA COMIC YET THIS SUMMER
Smashing into comics shops this July is the debut issue of the most spine-chilling kaiju comic book event you’ll ever experience: THE HORROR OF GODZILLA from Eisner-nominated co-writers Ethan S. Parker & Griffin Sheridan (Marvel Zombies: Red Band, GODZILLA: ESCAPE THE DEADZONE) and acclaimed horror artist Tristan Jones (EVENT HORIZON: DARK DESCENT, Aliens: Defiance). Set in 1954 Japan, witness the sheer terror behind Godzilla’s first horrifying onslaught on the human race and how the power behind its Kai-Sei energy has a frightening and transformative impact on humans exposed to the grim blasts.
“THE HORROR OF GODZILLA is for fans of Godzilla Minus One, Shin Godzilla, and Godzilla ‘54,” said editor Jake Williams. “It's a terrifying look at the Kai-Sei era's first Godzilla attack. It grabs the reader and places them on the ground in the middle of the most petrifying night in human history… the arrival of Godzilla. Through the power of Tristan Jones' visceral art style, this is the first Godzilla comic we've released that goes 100% in on horror. It very well might become the best Godzilla comic ever made… it's certainly the scariest.”
"Godzilla's been such a huge part of my life as far back as I can remember, and as someone that had Godzilla 1985 on near permanent loan from our local video store, and hounding my local bootlegger every day on the walk home from high school for the original Japanese cut, I'm genuinely hard-pressed to think of anything I've been this excited about in my career,” commented Jones. “As a storyteller that's become something of a fixture in the horror genre, it's a genuine honor and a thrill to work with Griffin and Ethan (and our incredible editor Jake) on a Godzilla story that leans so hard into my favourite visuals and even harder into things I always wished the films would. It's a huge departure from what I've been known for so far and everyone's given me incredible space to both try new things, and bring visuals to comics I'd never had a proper chance to before."
“The first year of the Kai-Sei Era found us in a world — a galaxy, even — steeped in kaiju, as we felt that was the best starting point for this universe,” stated Parker & Sheridan. “But now is the perfect moment to go back to the narrative bedrock, the genesis of our tale: humanity’s very first meeting with Godzilla. To not only be asked to tell this crucial chapter of the Kai-Sei saga, but also to make it as wild and horrific as possible… Oh, and Tristan Jones is going to draw it?! We’re beyond honored and cannot wait to share this one with readers.”
COMICS MEGASTARS ROBERT KIRKMAN, JOE CASEY, ANDY KUBERT, DAVID FINCH & ARTHUR ADAMS ANNOUNCE NEW SUPERHERO SERIES TERMINAL
The Most Violent and Unpredictable Comic of the Year from Skybound & Image Comics Debuts July 2026
"Listen, I’ve done my fair share of press release quotes but never for anything this cool,” said Robert Kirkman. “This will be the coolest comic on the market by the best creative team ever assembled. I dare you to find a book with a more stunning array of artistic talent. Go on, I’ll wait! You can’t! I’m co-creating another vast superhero universe and I’m getting to do it along with Joe Casey, Andy Kubert, David Finch and Arthur Adams! It’s going to be great!”
"I've been involved in some big launches before, but this is by far the biggest!” added Joe Casey. “This series has been many years in the making, and readers have no idea what they're in for. The level of talent involved is completely off the charts—and what we're doing is truly epic in both ambition and scale. Terminal is what great superhero comics are all about!"
There is a secret war being waged across the world by two violent forces with superhuman abilities who blur the lines between good and evil.
When Marilyn Howe's search for her missing sister Alessandra puts her in the center of this conflict, she'll learn that the power to save the world comes from unlocking your genetic code and giving up everything you thought you knew about yourself…if you survive the experience.
“I’ve had a very fortunate career with the big two, so for my first project outside that box since the late ‘80s, I couldn’t be more excited!” said Andy Kubert. “Being mentioned in the same breath as Kirkman, Casey, Finch and Adams along with colorist extraordinaire Dave McCaig is not only humbling but also gargantuan for me. Building characters and environments with Robert and Joe was some of the most fun I’ve had in comics. Heck, just getting to know them is a blast! And that comes through on every page and every panel. Honestly, I thought I had drawn pretty much everything until I got involved with Terminal!”
“Terminal is everything that made me want to draw comics in the first place,” said David Finch. “Classic, high action superhero storytelling by the very best writers around, with designs and art by Andy Kubert and Arthur Adams. I can't believe I'm even saying that! ANDY KUBERT AND ARTHUR ADAMS. On one book!! As a fan, it's a shot of adrenalin, with fast paced action, high concept craziness, and over the top visuals. As an artist, it feels like coming home.”
“How much fun is this? This is my first interior work in ages, and it’s been amazing being able to participate in the creation of a whole new universe of characters,” added Arthur Adams. “Amazing to work on a series with proven creators like Robert Kirkman and Joe Casey—a series that I think is going to go in directions no one is expecting. And so humbling to work on a project alongside artists like Andy Kubert and David Finch and Dave McCaig. Terminal features Heroes and Monsters galore! My kind of comic book! I hope you guys enjoy reading this as much as I’ve enjoyed working on it!”
Terminal #1 will also feature a special blind bag program that allows fans a chance to get nearly all orderable covers available for the issue, intermixed at varying degrees of rarity. However, there are also three exclusive surprise items that can be found in these blind bags. It will give you a sneak peek into the world of Terminal, delivered in a distinctive Robert Kirkman style and unlike anything seen in a blind bag program before.
Perfect for fans of Invincible and classic eras of X-Men, this is the most violent and unpredictable superhero series of the year, and nothing will prepare you for what’s coming. With a murderers’ row of creators who have each redefined superhero comics in their own right and powerful storytelling on fullest display,Terminal is set to be one of the biggest comic launches of the year.
Terminal #1 (Lunar Codes Coming Soon | SRP: $4.99) will be available at comic book shops and digital platforms including Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, and Google Play on Wednesday, July 22, 2026.

TMNT: THE LAST RONIN - TRAINING DAY Cover A by the Escorza brothers, Luis Antonio Delgado
“300 issues! Gene Luen Yang and Freddie E. Williams II pulling out all the stops and kicking off an epic new TMNT storyline,” stated Senior Group Editor Jake Thomas. “What more could fans want? Well, how about a double dose of Kevin Eastman and Tom Waltz, with a backup story in #300 exploring the legacy of the TMNT line with a murderers row of classic artists and a new one-shot installment of their Last Ronin saga with THE LAST RONIN: TRAINING DAY? This July, it's never been a better time to be a TMNT fan, and we're just getting started. 2026 is shaping up to be a banner year for the heroes in a half shell. 300 issues is just the beginning, the next 300 starts here, and I cannot wait to share it with fans.”
“For more than 40 years, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has been rooted in themes of brotherhood and resilience,” said Josh Silverman, President, Global Products & Experiences, Paramount. ”The Turtles’ stories continue to evolve while staying true to the beloved characters, classic humor, and action‑packed storytelling that have captivated generations of fans and cemented the franchise’s place in pop culture. Comics remain a defining expression of that legacy, allowing new adventures to unfold, expanding the universe, and deepening the stories in ways only this medium can.”

QUEEN IN BLACK #1 can be purchased in Marvel’s True Believer Blind Bags which will only contain exclusive covers not available for regular ordering.
QUEEN IN BLACK spins out of Ewing’s acclaimed work on Venom as well as the new Knull limited series that saw Hela seize Knull’s throne, forcing the God of the Void to claim a new power for himself. Their conflict erupts across the cosmos, coming to a head on Earth where Marvel’s heroes are all that stand in the way of the world being torn asunder by the forces of Light and Dark, both bent on enveloping the universe in their own brand of nothingness! In addition to the core series centered around Spider-Man, Venom, Mary Jane, Eddie Brock, and Dylan Brock, new tie-in series will see QUEEN IN BLACK’s impact on other corners of the Marvel Universe.
To celebrate the launch of the summer’s biggest event, QUEEN IN BLACK #1 will be available in Marvel’s new TRUE BELIEVERS BLIND BAGS. Following the massive success of Ultimate Endgame #1 and Daredevil #1, TRUE BELIEVERS BLIND BAGS give fans a chance to purchase the issue in special sealed bags, but unlike previous TRUE BELIEVERS BLIND BAGS, QUEEN IN BLACK #1 TRUE BELIEVERS BLIND BAGS will only contain exclusive variant covers not available for regular ordering. EACH BLIND BAG CONTAINS ONE OF THESE VARIANT COVERS TO QUEEN IN BLACK #1, EXCLUSIVE TO TRUE BELIEVERS BLIND BAGS:
HEL ON EARTH!
On the farthest edges of the solar system, Knull, God of the Void, builds a brand-new army to destroy Earth...but Hela of Asgard might have gotten there first – as she makes planetfall with a legion of the galaxy’s deadliest symbiotes! Two of the most powerful evils in the galaxy are at war... A cosmic collision of evil versus evil with Venom, Mary Jane and Dylan Brock caught right in the middle!
"The only threat bigger than one evil God is two of them fighting each other, with Earth caught right in the middle,” Ewing shared. “As an old-school ‘60s Marvel villain, Hela's a great match-up against the newer school of Knull, especially given the steps she's been taking to get onto his level. There can only be one winner - but whoever wins, it's the worst news possible for our heroes."
Check out Ryan Stegman’s main cover along with regular, orderable variant covers by Iban Coello, Peach Momoko, Chip Zdarsky, and Skottie Young. Stay tuned in the months ahead for more cover reveals, including those exclusive to TRUE BELIEVERS BLIND BAGS, along with announcements for QUEEN IN BLACK tie-in series!

AMERICAN MYTHOLOGY ANNOUNCES ALL-NEW FRIGHT NIGHT COMIC BOOK SERIES BASED ON THE CLASSIC HORROR FILM
First Issue of the New Mini-Series Ships in July – Ongoing Series Planned for Later This Year
This new launch serves as a direct follow-up to American Mythology’s hit five-issue series, Fright Night: Senior Year, which continued the story of Charley Brewster and expanded the film’s legacy for a new generation of fans. Fright Night: Senior Year is currently available as both a trade paperback and deluxe hardcover graphic novel and can be purchased at comic shops nationwide or directly through the American Mythology webstore at americanmythology.net/shop.
The upcoming mini-series is written by renowned horror author James Kuhoric, best known for his acclaimed work on Freddy Vs Jason Vs Ash and numerous cult horror properties, alongside writer G.O. Parsons, who penned the hit film Willy's Wonderland starring Nicolas Cage.
Set in the darkly seductive world of suburban vampires, the new series expands the universe of Fright Night, revisiting familiar faces while introducing terrifying new threats lurking just beyond the picket fences.
“For me, Fright Night has always been the perfect vampire movie,” said Kuhoric. “It captures the charm, danger, humor, and sensuality that define classic vampire lore while grounding it in real human fear. It’s been my favorite vampire film since the first time I saw it, and getting to expand that world in comics is truly a dream project.”
Parsons added, “Fright Night is one of those rare horror films that balances heart and horror flawlessly. The opportunity to step into that sandbox and explore new nightmares, while honoring what made the original so iconic, is incredibly exciting. Fans are in for something both nostalgic and boldly new.”
The July-launching mini-series will serve as the foundation for a larger ongoing Fright Night comic book universe, with American Mythology Productions planning additional story arcs and expansions later this year.
