The National Cynical Network Presents, Sunday (3/13): 'The Superman/Batman Show' (Special Expanded 2022 Redux) - 4pm-9am PACIFIC (with Special Interim Preview Presentation taking place TODAY, Thursday, March 10th, 2022 at the same showtimes!) Pre-show should start streaming an hour beforehand.
All of our programming is commercial-free and free of commercials.

This is a very VERY expanded and augmented REDUX version of our 3-hour 2015 program 'The Superman/Batman Show', This version has kind of a stronger bias toward the Batman side of things to coincide with the current weekend release of 'The Batman' now in theaters everywhere (except in Russia, *ahem*).

But keep in mind, this original-form show is more of a 'demo tape' for the comprehensive marathon we will play this week (the latter part of that original broadcast is actually about TAXES, be advised) so it is a mere 'hors doeuvre' in comparison to the sumptuous FEAST that we are cooking up for you this Thursday (today) and especially Sunday.
This is in part a collection of collages of various instances and occurences of these characters throughout the decades as well as various edits and remixes of the musical themes, and comedic treatments of the characters presented in our collage-based stream-of-consciousness MetaMedia format, our own core-sampling of their various permutations in the culture at large.
It will include evaluative and analytical historical/documentary material about the characters as they have been presented throughout the years including the many, many songs about 'Superman' (from R.E.M. to Eminem to Laurie Anderson to Taylor Swift, etc.) and mashups and variations of the many and various thematic film and TV musical scores (such as the one presented in this SoundCloud clip).
The overall sonic effect runs the gamut from the intensely psychedelic, to the hilariously comedic (there will be MUCH humor!), to the compellingly dramatic to the outright disturbing.
We will also have extensive sonic treatments and analyses of the various portrayals, over the years, of the iconic Batman villain characters of 'The Joker' with a very long set dedicated to that particular character and the story behind the portrayals (most notably, that of Heath Ledger in 2008's 'The Dark Knight') as well as 'The Riddler' who is portrayed in the new 'The Batman' film that just opened last week (with 'Twilight''s Robert Pattinson in the lead role).
We will also have clips and music from, and reviews of, this new Batman film and at the end, much commentary and analysis, entertaingly presented on exactly why these characters have been so endearing, enduring and compelling to so many over several generations.
The comprehensive and extensive 'FINAL BATTLE' sequence, which will be the climax to the entire program, promises to most sonically, epically awesome and not to be missed, especially the FINAL CUT version!
This all FOR FREE. This is all FOR FUN. Nothing is being sold here. At all.
We just really really enjoy music and playing music, and mixes of music that we have created, for people.
We do this for our own personal creative therapy and expression and for the enrichment of the culture at large, which we find meaningful to do.
