Adventure Time Comics

About two weeks ago, I read the black-and-white OGN Adventure Time: Fire and Ice. It's about Finn's friendship with Jake, his relationship with Fire Princess, and a great adventure to boot. Highly recommended to anyone looking to dip their toes into the Adventure Time comics world.

Earlier today, I read Adventure Time #19. I had dropped this title awhile back to read it in trades. But last week, when my LCS manager had accidentally put it in my box again, I thought, "Ehh, why not?" rather than protest. I'm happy I did. This is one of the best issues I've read. The Ice King delivers a very heart-felt performance. You feel bad for him, you root for him, and you hear him deliver one of the most powerful lines you'd ever expect to read in a Kaboom comic. There is only one time in history that a comic book has made me cry. This wasn't it, but I was really close to having a second time today.
