Captain America's Motorcycles

Alright, we all know that Cap can ride a motorcycle.

The evidence is obvious...from that fateful flashback in Avengers #4, where he and Bucky are racing to catch the Drone plane....to the time travel flashback in Avengers #56, where we see just how that event came about!

Some place after the birth of the Falcon in Captain America #117 or so, Cap once again acquired a motorcycle, and for many months afterwards, he would roar in on a cycle, as drawn by Gene Colan.

Just how many issues did he keep this cycle, and was it ever done away with or was it wrecked, or just forgotten?

Captain America #128

(For real silver age sticklers, we might mention the Jim Steranko fueled chopper that cap rides up on in Captain America #113, where he busts up the Hydra burial of the Avengers in the darkened graveyard, but there was never any explaination of who's cycle that was or where he got it, or what happened to it beyond that classic pin-up panel!)

(And  for us golden oldies who remember, there was even a character named "Captain America in the classic bikers picture "Easy Rider", but that's whole another  discussion.  Plus a made for television movie with a ridiculous paintjob and dayglow costume!)

  • (And for those of you who want to be a pain in the a**, there was even a character named "Captain America in the classic bikers picture "Easy Rider", but that's another whole discussion.)

If that makes you a pain in the a**, I don't even want to know what this makes me:

  • Great photo, Dr. Hmmmm....

I think Cap was played by by a younger Johnathan Frakes (of Star Trek: The Next Gen fame!)

Maybe I was a bit too strong on the trivia there.  Maybe I should have said, for us golden oldies who remember....
