Got notice that DC will put out a THUNDER Agents book. Didn't they try that a couple of years ago and it fell through? Did they lease them or outright buy them? And from who?

The rights were owned for a good while by the late John Carbonaro, who posted on the Captain's old board as the Chief. I don't know who holds them now.
My recollection is DC planned to make the last mooted revival grim and gritty, but I can't recall if I've seen an authoritative statement that that was why the revival fell through. At the time DC had just reprinted, or was in the process of reprinting, the Tower material in the Archives format.
