Do the recent news stories remind anyone of the classic storyline in Avengers #27?

 

I had never made the connection between the arrival of Galactus over in Fantastic Four #48-49-50 and Avengers #27, as all being signs of the end-times...the end of the world, Judgement Day...until Kurt Busick's MARVELS four part mini-series came out.

Then the penny dropped.

I wondered, did anyone else at the time, catch the significance of this?

Did anyone actually plan for the Earth, Wind, & Fire concept of the end times?

 

Anyone? Anyone?  Bueller?, Anyone?
