Heck. I didn't know they needed defending. I didn't like how that era ended but I sure enjoyed the stories up until the end. Granted, "Fall of the Mutants" is when I began collecting superhero comics. It could be said that I "didn't know any better" but even in hindsight those were stories that I still think were terrific more often then not.

Ugh. That was the era that so disgusted me that I not only dropped all the X-Titles, but I sold my entire X-Collection.

I didn't enjoy another X-book until Age of Apocalypse, and after that was over, I didn't enjoy another one until Grant Morrison took over writing.

Yeah, I didn't dig Grant Morrison's X-Men at all...
