INTERGALACTIC GLADIATORS BRAWL & MAUL IN COLORFUL COMIC BOOK MELEE!

New series Colossians serves up political and spiritual intrigue

amidst the chaos and carnage

(June, 2012) – With a cast that would frighten the monsters and scoundrels from that “wretched hive of scum and villainy,” the Mos Eisley Cantina from Star Wars, the new comic series Colossianstakes readers on a whirlwind journey of cosmic proportions.

Joe Endres, creative force behind the edgy fanzine Megazeen as well as the co-writer of Mecha Manga Bible Heroesand artist for several other publications, is the architect behind the exciting new series and its strange, exotic world.  Endres’ vision, which recently debuted at the summer Superheroes For Hospice Charity Comic Con in New Jersey, has already met with admirers.

“The initial reaction has been terrific,” says Endres.  “Several people commented on how cool and colorful they found the characters and that these were just the kind of characters they like to see in a comic book.”

Endres notes that the characters like Foxx, Savage and the Manx may draw fans, but he hopes the story keeps them reading and coming back for more.  "On the surface it's about a deep, evil conspiracy on a faraway planet, and a handful of misfits and space pirates who get caught up in it," explains Endres.  "Along the way, they’ll be confronted with the most compelling and controversial figure of all time, and will have to make choices of biblical implications."

Endres has been developing and tweaking the characters and stories of Colossians since his childhood. He’s called upon an array of artistic talent to help bring the series to life, with a rotating talent pool utilizing some of the best artists from Megazeen’sten-year history as an underground faith-based comics ‘zine “without the cheese.”

"These artists aren't just drawing my script, they're bringing their own unique feel to each issue, with a plot specifically designed to showcase their talents," says Endres.

Colossians #1is written and inked by Joe Endres, with pencils by Thom "Kneon Transitt" Pratt and colors by Mark Melton.  The striking cover was painted by fan-favorite illustrator Jeff Slemons. Upcoming issues will feature art from Dan Barlow and Jesus Marquez.

"I know where the story needs to go and I'm enjoying seeing how each artist gets us there. It's just as much fun for me to read the final product as anyone,” exclaims Endres.

Colossians #1retails for $4.99 and can be purchased at colossianscomic.com.  For wholesale inquiries, contact Joe Endres at megazeen@hotmail.com
