We've been discussing  Batman #5 that came out this week and man was it good. This arc has been pretty exciting and this issue uped the ante big time. However some other solid stuff came out this week.

Amazing Spider-man 678 was the first of a two-parter involving time travel. It was a lot of fun and didn't make my head hurt. Plus it seemed that Hurberto Ramos's art was a little more under control. I'm not always the biggest fan of his but it worked well here. The two page spread of Peter walking to work was fun, nothing earth shattering but a pretty honest representation of living in New York City.

Avenging Spider-man #3 was the conclusion of the first arc. I thought for sure that we were going to have a 6 issue opening arc with the Red Hulk. I'm thankful we didn't. But this was a good first arc. The team up aspect has always been fun with Spidey. The interactions with JJJ were really good. Joe Madureira's art was really great for this. Also Spidey taking out someone that put down Rulk with little trouble was actually hilarious. For pure Spidey humor and action this is a good title.

Daredevil #8- This was a conclusion of a two parter that started in Amazing Spider-man. This was written by Mark Waid. This focused on Daredevils recent developments and was a fun team up with Spider-man and Black Cat. The innuendo between DD and Black Cat was fun.

Nightwing #5- This is one of my favorites of the DCnU. The mystery of the Saiko killer and the Haley Circus has continued on but the last issues while focusing on the main arc have been fun one-shots. Having Dick has the head of his former circus and traveling around the country as Nightwing has been a nice addition.

DC Universer Presents #5- Ok this was not as great as the others. It concludes the opening arc with Deadman. While it was a bit talky for my tastes, it accomplished the goal of setting Boston Brand in the DCnU and giving him a clear realization of his purpose. Plus Bernard Chang's art is awesome!

I almost forgot Ultimate Spider-man #6, which was good but not as good as the other things I've read this week. The fill-in artist was good but it was such a different style that what has been being used, that it took some getting use to.

I'm behind on some other reading so I didn't get to Green Lantern Corps or Invincible Iron Man.

I know that we have the "what comics have you read today" thread. I wanted to give these all a special acknowledgement. It's been a while since I've read 7 comics in a row that were all equally enjoyable. I always like my comics but these made me not regret having such a huge pull list. I had been getting kinda bored with comics so this long run has renewed my excitement.

Feel free to use this thread to comment on the issues I mentioned or talk about the outstanding stuff you read. By all means please keep using the What Comics Have You Read Today thread. Use this for standout issues that need our attention.
